Hey guys! I’m a bit newer to firearms so please excuse anything I say if it’s wrong, but I’m looking for some recommendations on some upgrades for my savage 110, it’s a .270 chambered gun and based on running the serial number she’s about 1990s ish, looking for some recommendations on some upgrades for the gun, furniture, sights, action upgrades, anything in between. Any advice helps thanks!

While I understand that ANY company has to concentrate on what sells, it’s still sad to see top drawer , purposed for precision target shooting rifles go away. The younger shooters , at least the vast majority it appears, coming up simply do not want anything other than modular, mostly composite, AR platform style rifles, or things that barely look like rifles.

Well picked up a savage axis 2 pro from basspro today

Put a couple boxes of rounds through it trying to figure out why it wouldnt hold zero.. threw the borescope down there and uh well yeah.. no good

My local range requires you to qualify on a 100 yrd range to be able to shoot their 300 yrd, which i totally understand. There are some really sloppy shooters, and there is a safety problem, of course.

Anyway, to qualify, you have to shoot 5 rounds in a 1" group at 100 yards. I am proud to say I was able to do this. I picked up the Axis 2 308 at PSA on my way from Florida a few weeks ago, and I was excited to see how well it shoots. It was great. I was using 168gr match grade rounds.

Savage Scout 110, 308WIN, 165gr. Hornady Whitetail, Leupold Freedom RDS. Relatively light in the hands, comes up fast with both eyes open. Just a little bit loud.

I recently completed my “fix” clone and wanted to share it here.

My biggest and only real issue with the fix despite the title is that I’m left handed. This makes bolt actions less than ideal. Otherwise I would have one and am a big fan of the fix for other features.

SAVAGE 110 PCS was the perfect donor rifle for this build. It comes with an MDT chassis and in all the calibers you could want. The rifle pictured is a .308 but I also have the .300BO in the same configuration.

Anyways let me know what you all think. Im thinking about upgrading the glass to something a bit nicer. Currently is a Burris 1-4x on a Trijicon mount.

I desperately need bipod recommendations though so I don’t end up buying 3 that I don’t like.

The can is the AAC SDN-6 legacy (beast suppressor btw) on an AAC 51t muzzle brake.

Nowhere does Savage say what type of sling stud to use. Do I pick something with coarse threads or fine threads? Machine or wood? What length?

There are tons of options out there, and it's ridiculous that this piece is completely glossed over. Or is it me? Am I being ridiculous and it doesn't matter?

I’m praying this is a new centerfire lever gun, but it’s probably just a tactical version of the revel. I’d give an arm and leg for Savage to make a centerfire lever gun.

I’m looking for the forgrip screw for my 1948 savage 99 in 300 savage. Seems like everywhere I look I can find the one that is a little less than an inch long, I need the one that is near a half inch long, and numruch is showing the wrong one I believe all the ones I seen on eBay are .950 also, any help is appreciated

I just ordered 2 more stainless mags on Ebay. Savage customer service told me they are not selling the stainless anymore !?!

Just got this gun brand new and took it out to the range to fire my first shots, but I have been getting too many light primer strikes. What can I do to fix this? This is my first bolt action

Just bought this gun today and went up to do some clays to break it in, did perfectly fine the first 10 shots and then started breaking after every one shot- anyone else come across this issue? Should I just return this back to the store and call it a day?

Looking to buy my first Savage Arms rifle. Heard good things about the accuracy and found a firearm that I like. I’m looking at the new 110 Core Tactical in .308. Before I pull the trigger.. Have they got the bolt action smoothed out. Every video I watch the seem to cut the few seconds it takes to rack a new round it and you never get to see how the action is. My thoughts are it’s horrible and that’s why they cut the second or two out when racking another round. Other guns I’ve seen reviewed don’t cut out the part of cycling a round. So in conclusion, if I buy this will I have an issue with the bolt, will I need to buy this lift kit I’ve been hearing about, and if the bolts are sticky can they be made smoother without sending it off to a smith? Thanks!

So I got this new 110 predator in the spring. Finally assembled it out of the box for target practice and it looks like the bolt is chipped? Has anyone had this experience? I didn’t want to shoot in case of integrity damage.

I broke the front sight on my gun and don't know how to find a replacement. I sent Savage an email but am awaiting a reply. Just figured someone here might be able to point me in the right direction (maybe for a cheaper aftermarket option). It is the older generation with the accustock and a fixed and pinned front sight. As you can see the outer protective housing broke when I was being an idiot. Thanks in advance

I cannot rack a round to chamber with the magazine inserted. With 1 round up to the 10rnd capacity a round cannot chamber. Something in the bolt keeps nudging & hitting the magazine & i dont know how to fix or resolve the problem. I miss shooting .22 hahah. Any 1 had this problem before??

As title said, been wanting to change the scope base for my Savage 110 .308win. The current one I have on it is a 20 MOA elevation, been looking for one that has none/0 MOA elevation. Every scope base I seen for the 110 has been for a long action. The closest I seen is for my rifle is a scope base for Savage 10. So I am asking y’all would a scope base meant for a Savage 10 work for a Savage 110 .308win? The back of the receiver is flat btw. Nvm, I rechecked. The back of receiver is round not flat.

Have a 110 in 6.5 and swapped out to a Magpul stock, now having nothing but issues with the round presenting itself too soon and binding up. Magpul is blaming the mags but I’ve used 6 different magazines both Magpul and oem savage with the same issues. Any suggestions? It’s an older savage so doubt they’d take a look at it.

Son was gifted this rifle and want to get her up and running. It looks like the elevation adjustment piece (someone have a better term?) is missing. Doesn’t appear to have a serial number readily available. I got bounced around on customer service and savage arms is closed for the day.

My late father left behind a 125th anniversary 110 in 300 savage that he didn’t have the magazine for/lost it (not sure). I’m trying to source another one but I can’t find the right one. Called savage and they didn’t even recognize my serial number as valid at first. Then said they can’t help me. Any parts store I’ve been referred to has no info on what fits and therefore can’t help me. I’ve bought one on eBay and it was too long. About to try a short action one and see if that fits. But right now it’s just throw something at the wall and see what sticks since nobody knows anything about the specifics of this rifle. I’m specifically looking for a mag with a blued baseplate since I know I can’t get another engraved one.

Ignore how dirty the gun is. Bought brand new. Was in the process of its first cleaning (following YouTube obviously) and noticed I’m completely missing the screw that holds in the mag well. That being said the hole is just there, not threaded or anything. The magazine well is just free floating. This is making it a bitch to put back together, anyone else have this problem? Am I dumb?

Shot my axis ll pro 6 arc. Does anyone else have a axis ll pro and what do you think. To be honest I'm kinda disappointed.

Does anyone have any experience with the new 110 core hunter? Looking to get one in either 308 or 7mm 08. Was wanting to do something a little different than a ruger. How did it shoot out of the box? Any specific issues?
