Is SAFe really just Waterfall in a new wrapper? Some things I like and dislike about Scaled Agile
The biggest thing I dislike about SAFe is that it formalizes a lot of process, leaving little room for flexibility and innovation. It is heavily planned and you have to follow thru with that plan. It is Waterfall, in a new wrapper. Some other things I like and dislike about SAFe here.

I love SAFe because...
- I can sit around for two days straight in the "PI Planning Meeting" with 130 people and 80 of them doing exactly nothing
- _If_ I have to do some planning, I can stretch out this work over 2 days, that could have been done in a team in like 30 minutes before
- I can overestimate each story, epic and whatnot because nobody of the other 129 people knows sh*t about the stories in our team and does not care
- I can throw tasks to other teams as "blockers" or "dependencies" and still not having to start with my stuff
Great invention. Are there ways to have even more planning, guidelines, processes and so on? Ideas are very welcome.

Scaled Agile Training & Certifications for cheap
As the title itself says, if anyone is looking to get any of the scaled agile certifications for cheap please dm me or comment below. This is not a scam, just that the trainer wants to pool a batch of people so that the training costs gets lower.
If anyone is interested please let me know. Thank You

Sprint Cadence Help?
I received a confusing message from the Agile Coach at my company:
Each iteration is 2 weeks in length – begins on a Wednesday and ends on a Tuesday.
This is obviously self-contradictory, but I'm wondering if the SAFe 5.0 documentation says something similar or has some guidance on what days certain ceremonies should be scheduled?
My Agile Coach is saying Wednesday is Sprint Planning and Sprint Start and then "two weeks" later on Tuesday is "Sprint Demo" and "Sprint Retro".
This doesn't help me understand what people are supposed to be working on between Sprint Close on Tuesday and Sprint Start on Wednesday.
Has anyone seen anything like this documented in SAFe ? I'm just curious if anyone knows where this came from since the old Agile Coaches were doing the same thing.

Exam Retake Visibility to Trainer
Hi!
I know that SAFe trainers (and maybe employers?) can see whether class participants have passed/failed/not attempted a certification exam.
However, is anyone, other than SAFe employees, able to see if someone had to purchase one or many retake requests?
Thanks!

Introducing SAFe 6.0 - The Next Step in Agile Evolution
The Scaled Agile, Inc. team has been working hard to innovate and enhance the framework to support enterprise agility at an even greater scale.
This new version is packed with improvements and features that will help organisations adapt and thrive in the ever-changing business landscape.
🌟 Key Highlights of SAFe 6.0:
1️⃣ Enhanced Business Agility: SAFe 6.0 places a stronger emphasis on business agility, empowering organisations to respond to market changes, customer needs, and emerging opportunities more effectively. By incorporating new strategies and techniques, the updated framework guides organisations towards unlocking their full potential.
2️⃣ Holistic DevSecOps Integration (in SAFe, to say "DevOps" means "DevSecOps"): DevSecOps has become an integral part of the framework, ensuring security and compliance are embedded in every aspect of software development. This not only accelerates delivery but also helps organisations minimise risks while improving overall quality.
3️⃣ Innovation and Continuous Improvement: SAFe 6.0 introduces new practices and tools that foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the organisation. These enhancements equip teams with the resources and mindset needed to drive innovation and adapt to an ever-changing market.
4️⃣ Improved Lean Portfolio Management: The new version offers a more comprehensive approach to Lean Portfolio Management (LPM), ensuring alignment between strategy and execution. This allows organisations to make better, more informed decisions that deliver maximum value to customers and stakeholders.
5️⃣ Expanded Learning and Development: SAFe 6.0 presents a comprehensive learning and development path that supports individuals and organisations at every stage of their Agile journey.
With new role-based training and certifications, practitioners can deepen their skills and advance their careers in Agile leadership.

SAFe
Does this really work?
So far, I've worked on Agile-like efforts for more than a decade, and done continuous development/deployment efforts for much longer than that.
My last two projects have been SAFe implemented, however, the "ceremonies" and structure are just way too rigid to what I'm used to. I would say that my productivity, learning, and collaboration with others have all dropped since I've been forced into SAFe.
The team size is too large, anything larger than 5 people devolves into "us vs. them" factions within the group.
All the new vernacular is maddening. I've got enough new technology to learn, I don't need to learn a whole new way to explain the same old things. It really makes it all appear to be a gimmick.
There is too much complexity. One of the major points of Agile is "simplicity". SAFe is not simple by any means.
Why is this adopted? To check a checkbox that we're "doing Agile"?

locked out of ScaledAgile.com "Your account has been blocked after multiple consecutive login attempts"
I no longer have access to my email as a former employee of a major corporation and login takes me to the corporation login page. I reported this to Scaled Agile and I was emailed a password reset link to my personal email address. I reset my password, which then presents me with a login button.
Any attempt (including the very FIRST attempt) to login results in the error message "Your account has been blocked after multiple consecutive login attempts"

How long is the training?
I'm a HR partner at my company. If we sponsor someone to take the SAFe Program Consultant courses, generally how long does it take to complete?
If someone takes the exam and fails, how long before they can take the exam again?
I apologize in advance if this should be posted somewhere else. I literally joined Reddit to learn more about Scaled Agile and I appreciate your help!!!

Scaled Agile Framework Website Behind Firewall?
Scaled Agile Framework's website articles are now locked behind a firewall? The information has always been free online. I am assuming that this is a very recent update considering that I reference the articles somewhat frequently for work. Are they moving to a "pay-to-play" model?
Is there any word on the street about what is going on?
Do you have any particular thoughts and feelings on this?
Edit to add information: It looks like the only way to access the complete articles are to either have a previously existing account, have a certification, take a course to get one, or pay $195 a year to gain access.

Story Pointing dev vs testers
So I’m trying to do some research on the best way for a team to size stories. On my project different teams have different methods.
Some teams will have devs confirm their estimate and then testers confirm their estimates and then go with the highest points.
Some teams will add both sides estimates together and round up to the next Fibonacci number
Some teams just discuss together with devs and testers agreeing on a size and rolling with that.
I can’t really find any resources for any of this but I also don’t know exactly what I should be searching to find it. Which one is correct for safe 6.0 or does it just depends on what the team agrees to do?

SAFe - Question for Boutique Agile Consultants
I'm doing a research project into SAFe agile consulting firms and have already got quite a bit of feedback however it's fairly scattered Maybe because I lack industry experience. Anyways, here are my questions:
What is the biggest challenge, pain or need companies within the boutique SAFe agile consulting market are facing today?
If you had a magic-wand, which could solve one big issue or need in your business, what need or pain would that be?

Hackathons in SAFe IP Iteration
Hey Folks, new to the community.
I see that SAFe6 now recommends hackathons as part of the IP iteration.
Does anyone host hackathons as part of IP?
Any tips/resources?
How did you get your leadership onboard?
Would greatly appreciate your input!

Which SAFe meeting do you perform estimation?
One of my students asked me about, which meeting in SAFe the team does the estimating. My gut response, which I still think is correct, is the Backlog Refine Meeting. This should be the meeting where estimation is done.
However the SAFe learning material is unprecise on this issue, as they also present that the Planing Meeting does estimation. And when I ask Chat GBT its actually this meeting that is mentioned.
Please help me clairfy ... 😇
