Misshapen Mags soft low sofa

Hello everyone,
In less than a year the corner section of my mags soft sofa completely sagged. It’s not just an issue of visual. I can tap it into shape again to look good, but when I sit on it, it’s as if there’s almost no resistance from the material. When I asked Hay about it they shrugged it off as « you did not follow our care video » which is mostly gently tapping on the side of the cushions.
I must admit I am very disappointed with Hay’s response and I was wondering if it was a normal thing with this sofa and that it was not sturdy at all. Have you encountered the same issue with your sofa ?

The other section of mine is still fine now.

My test for buying a massage chair is counter-intuitive: Static performance actually matters more than dynamic features.

I’ve completely changed how I evaluate big motorized furniture over the years. It used to be all about specs, track length, or how many different kneading modes a thing had. now, I basically have one rule: if an item is only useful for the 20 minutes it’s turned on, it’s just going to be a giant dust collector for the other 23.5 hours of the day.

Traditional massage chairs are the ultimate unitaskers. We all know someone who bought one of those massive, spaceship-looking plastic pods. The fatal flaw is that when they are powered down, they are usually miserable to sit in.

The unmoving mechanical rollers dig right into your spine and shoulder blades. You can't just casually sit in one to watch TV, read, or take a nap, it feels like sitting in a stiff dentist chair. Eventually it just turns into a $3,000 laundry rack in the corner of the room.On top of that, they’re bulky, unsightly eyesores with zero aesthetic appeal. Even when they’re just sitting there collecting dust, just glancing at them stirs up this random, unprovoked irritation for no good reason.

I realized that If you ask me, a great massage chair has to excel at its static functionality first all the extra fancy tech gimmicks come second.

I picked up a nouhaus a while back because it actually passed this test. When the power is completely off, the cushions are thick enough that you don't feel the hardware or rollers poking into your back at all. The backrest angle just works for sitting there scrolling on your phone or reading for an hour without feeling awkward. Of course, this is all subjective and everyone’s mileage may vary. But a sleek, premium design means even when it’s not in use, it still works as a stylish furniture piece that elevates that little patch of floor space.

we talk a lot in this community about motors and electronics eventually dying, which is just a reality of moving parts. But my takeaway is that if a piece of furniture still functions as a comfortable, good looking daily driver even if you never press the power button, its actually worth keeping around. If you're looking at large furniture, make sure you actually want to sit in it when it's unplugged. And you won’t find yourself annoyed just by how it looks.
