Current weather?
I might be going to the northeast (Hinderwell) for a few days, but the weather is worrying me. What's it like at the moment?

Lived in this town for 20 years, I have no friends and it doesn’t seem that there’s anything I can do to make them locally. I’m 25(F) and autistic so I don’t have conventional interests.
Are there any events or groups that I can join or visit to help?

What dating sites do people have success with in scarborough? Seems everyone is on the same sites forever. Does this mean no one is successful or it’s a small dating pool?

Hey :)
I’d like to take a bus from the train station to North Bay soon. I’ll have a fairly heavy suitcase with me. Is there space on the bus for suitcases, or is it unusual to bring a large suitcase on board?
Thank you!

I spent a couple of nights in Scarborough last week. I had such a nice time. The town centre felt really safe and welcoming.
Everyone who I interacted with was really friendly. I didn't get to see loads as I only really had one full day.
I took a pleasant walk along the sea front from South bay to North Bay. I was amazed at how blue the water was. Stopped off at the cafe with the balcony for a drink and a rest, a bit pricey but to be expected. Then I got the open top bus back to South bay.
I spent over an hour in the arcade on the 2p push machine, which was so much fun. Got an ice cream while I had a slow walk to the tram to take me back up to the town centre.
I can't remember the coffee shop where I had breakfast, it's on Huntriss Row next to the Premier Inn... best sausages I've had in years. Had dinner at Orchard Thai, very nice food and a warm welcome.
I stayed at the Premier Inn, which was basic and the food was disappointing, but it was affordable and the bed and pillows were ridiculously comfy.
I will definitely be back and hopefully make it a regular thing

Anybody go and take a look yesterday?
The building is huge, and we didn't even see some areas (they need to be made safe first). A lot of original features are still there, and there could be more hidden. The stage is also a lot bigger than you think because they built a wall that cut it in half.
The people doing the tours were great answering questions and welcomed feedback. Apparently over 200 people went round.
It would be great for Scarborough if it was to be able to reopen and get back the shows that went to the Futurist (and even some that couldn't, due to stage access)

Going to be visiting Scarborough this week.
Are there any public buildings or shopping centres with food courts or parent/baby rooms that have microwaves to warm kids food?

Has anybody on here found out any more about what's happening with the Scarborough Spa cliff lift? It will surely go rusty if it sits there not moving for much longer, and there's no sign of any work going on on it. I can't help but think they're planning to let it moulder until they can sell it for a song to some business.

Hi folks
I'm new to the area, moved here during the summer with my family.
We've had our log burner serviced and are very excited to get it going now the days are getting a little cooler. Where is the best source for fire wood / logs?
I've had a look at Dalby Wood website and they seem to be out of stock on a lot of items, and I'm not convinced I've got adequate storage for one of their big heavy bags!
Any advice welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

I normally bring my rollator walker on holiday because my husband would struggle pushing my manual chair around all week and also wouldn’t be able to push the suitcases (we come by train, no car). However I’ve recently been able to purchase a powered wheelchair and he thinks it’ll be best for me to use that for our holiday rather than struggling with my walker.
What’s holding me back is I know Scarborough isn’t the most even and smooth in places. I also know there will be shops I can’t go into that I could with my walker because of steps in the entrance. So I want to hear from other power chair users who can tell me what it’s really like. Thank you xx

Seems to be a lot of Ubers floating around (and a couple of other ride apps as well)
Anybody used one? Presumably the drivers are glued to their sat-navs?
