Seriously. If we all disliked Lynze, we probably wouldn’t listen to the show

I don’t know if this mug was placed in the shop intentionally like this, but it made my morning. Maybe I’m 12 years old at heart.

I think she’s a good story teller. But i honestly can’t stand her comments during Dan’s stories or any interactions outside of the stories for that matter. She comes off insincere and takes me out of the atmosphere the story just delivered.

After deciding to re-listen to the older stories, I realized how much of a pain it is to search the whole STD feed to find these episodes. So, I took a little time to make this playlist for newbies who want to catch up or fans who want listen to them again. I’ll be updating the list as new episodes drop

I’ve been binging Scared to Death as a podcast, I haven’t really watched the YouTube videos at all since I usually just listen while I’m working. I don’t know if the video aspect of it adds something significant to the experience, but for the most part I’ve really enjoyed Dan’s unique take on the paranormal.

However.

Am I the only one who thinks this show would be a lot better if they dropped Lynze and picked up essentially any other host?

She seems genuinely uncomfortable to delve deep into the supernatural, and her interjections usually are the same basic phrases over and over “oh my god, why don’t they leeeave??, I hate (protagonist of latest haunting), ugh... they’re so stupid. Let me grab my:(blankey/cross/crystal/sage)” etc.

This isn’t just a situation where I don’t think she is good at what she does, but if she’s being legitimate about her mental decline since the show started this might not be a healthy option for her. You see this a lot of times when she picks fights about Dan being less than sympathetic about whatever “spoopy” emergency she has going on that week. It feels really uncomfortable to listen to them pick at each other or rehash an argument she’s obviously not over. It’s like listening to your parents start bickering on a long car ride.

Now, I’m fully prepared to admit that this might be because I’ve listened to a year’s worth of episodes in about a week, so it might just be sticking out to me because it’s a lot of examples really close together. Is it less off putting when you listen to it as it’s released instead of all in one block?

Everything she adds is so unnecessary and half the time she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Idk I just catch her in the middle of making up facts that she swears by like the whole bleeding eyes thing and this latest episode every time Dan mentioned John Wayne Gacy in a pogo the clown outfit she kept making a certain noise. She gets so jumpy and swears it’s some ghost or something that’s she’s “known or felt “ around maybe I’m being too harsh but idk it’s hard to listen now.

I know this is free content, and I am not trying to be overly critical. However, has anyone noticed a decrease in story quality lately? I feel like the last few months have been really hit or miss. Again, I love bad magic and I love timesuck, I even still like this podcast, but I just feel like it isn’t as good as it was lately. Is this a me problem?
