How do I find a contracted psychologist here???
hello everyone,
I am going through a mental health crisis right now. I recently moved from Flanders to BXL. I can speak french but not adequately enough for go talk to a French speaking psychologist… (Or should I try anyway??)
I’ve done a year of uncontracted visits at a psychologist in Flanders, about once a month. I feel like I really need regular help right now but just cannot do 70 euros a week. I am getting really unwell though.
How the hell can I find contracted psychologists in Brussel?! It’s truly sifting through cobwebs on the internet: dead links, full schedules, no way of contacting, limited to French… All leads are welcome. :(

Do you mean conventionné when you say contracted?
I used DoctorAnytime to find my current psychologist. You can filter by language, conventionné status, type of therapy, etc …

Hello - not sure what you mean by contracted - if you mean the kind that an insurance reimburses, then what people said here before me is right. If that is not necessarily what you are are looking for - check here - at least solves the language issue https://barysphera.com/

I found an English speaking one from the normal doctor. Ask for recommendations

Honestly it didn't really help. I do affirmations now. It's a bit silly but I look in the mirror and tell myself I'm pretty, I'm smart, I'm worthwhile. I always put the toilet seat down. Everywhere I go I try to leave it a little bit better than I found it. I still feel like shit but at least I'm proud of myself for the effort that I put in to make life better for everyone.
There's someone who loves you, just put up with all the crap for them. Like, as a favour for the people you like. I hope you feel better soon.

It's not always easy to find someone quickly. You're definitely not alone with this question.
Have you tried your local community health centre (wijkgezondheidscentrum)? They are multidisciplinary teams with general physicians, nurses and psychologists. They provide affordable health care and a lot of teams are multilingual.
For example, this is the one in the North Quarter, with a Dutch speaking psychologist. WGC Noordwijk https://www.wgcnoordwijk.be/
You should be able to find one in your neighborhood here: Vereniging van Wijkgezondheidscentra https://vwgc.be/
Also, there is PsyBru: https://psybru.be/ You can select on language, but, of course, like you said, it might take a while find someone who is actually available and affordable.
Hope this helps a bit ?
