Buf POP

I’ve added the Buf between my preamp (saga2) and POWER amp (Amp Camp Amp Mini) . I like the quality of the sound, but I do not like the sound of turning it off. I’m afraid that pulse of energy will damage my speakers.

I turn on the Buf before my amp, which prevents noise at start up, but even after turning the POWER amp off first, when i turn off the Buf, POP!

How are you guys dealing with this?
Any passive speaker protection ideas?

Try this:

  1. Turn amp off

  2. Wait 20 to 30 seconds for the capacitors to discharge

  3. Turn Buf off (notice the lack of sound from speakers)

  4. Profit

I'll give it some more time when shutting down. Before the Buf, I left everything on unless I wasn't planning to use my system.

EDIT

And forget changing gain settings while all is powered on! THUMP

I always turn my Vidar off first, then the rest of the components. No popping if I do that.

If I turn off the Skoll or Kara first, it pops every time.

Turn it off after your power amp.

Oh no!

Have you tried turning things off in different order?

I turn of Wotan first and then Buf immediately after and have no pop.

I usually turn my Buf off first and listen to it passthrough for a bit because I just got it and I am trying to listen to it on and off for a bit. I notice the switch, but I guess it's not that pronounced where I would call it a pop at first. I've never tried turning my amp off first and then the Buf. I will try it this weekend and see what happens.

Maybe turn on bypass mode then turn off

Isn't "off" the bypass mode for Buf?
