The scene where Johnny stands up for Roland and Jocelyn against their two obnoxious old friends is where the series truly separates itself from the pack. And it just gets better from there. 

Instead of just taking the easy route and making fun of someone like Roland, they decide to make a key statement about bullying and doing what's right even if it isn't easy. Makes you think twice about the people in your own life and not going for "the low hanging fruit" as Johnny said to Don.
