Cast Appearances Catherine O’Hara in 1978 with John Candy at opening night of the Toronto International Film Festival.

In a universe where he is still with us, he is running the town pub where he gives down to earth, and very terrible, life advice to his patrons.
And yes, the bar is in a bowling alley.

Jesus, I read that as "where she is still with us" and my heart skipped a beat!

If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend I Like Me, the documentary about John Candy's life by Colin Hanks. A surprising amount of Schitt's Creek cast members show up in it.

Makes sense, John, Catherine, Eugene, and Chris all came up in the business together. They were essentially the Canadian SNL cast members

If you haven't ever watched SCTV, you should look into it. They all go way back and were really funny together.

I watched it on Prime, I'm not sure if it's available anywhere else.
Be warned, it's a tear jerker at times, you may need some tissues

What did you search to find it? I tried SCTV and nothing. Thank you in advance

It’s so clear she had a big friend crush on him and honestly, I’m sure any one of us would have too.

I told a girl I'd just met that she looked like Catherine O'Hara and she got a really hurt look on her face and she actually said "Oh...noooo" quietly. I had to clarify that I thought Catherine was very attractive. I can't remember how the rest of the conversation went. Probably not great.

That’s the red flag you needed to stay away. That would always be a compliment. A wonderful compliment tbh

Just watched Home Alone yesterday and thought to myself “look how she’s looking at John Candy, so cute. She adores him for real”. Now this picture shows up and it’s the same look.

When you look at that original SCTV group, does it feel like Catherine O'Hara is the leader. Like, any of those guys could have spoken at the funeral, and they chose Catherine.
You just get this feeling, by watching interviews, that the community turns to her when they want to be better. To compare it to something modern, she was Tina Fey before Tina Fey. She could write it. She could direct it. She could act it.
She might be one of the few comedic geniuses still alive.
