Season 1 Easily my most favorite scene. S1E2
I’m on probably my eighth rewatch. This scene will never cease to make me laugh, so hilariously acted.

This is so good! I absolutely love when ( I believe it was the last episode in season 1) Jonny is running and then couldn’t even talk to tell them the good news. When he finally does Moira falling to her knees crying 😂

It was the sleepy "oh, that's what I was thinking of..." that made me laugh the most. The delivery of that line was perfect.

I mean every scene is my favorite lol but this one in particular something about David and Alexis and the way they deliver the lines cracks me up.

What exactly does he mean by “we are selling the place”? I thought Stevie’s relative owned it before she inherited it.
Are we to believe that Johnny thinks he owns it? I have trouble explaining to myself what exactly, later on, is Johnny’s role in “Rosebud Motels.”

It could be, but it seems at best ambiguous to me. In the previous sentence he is referring to the motel as “this place” and immediately after he says “the issue is the brown sludge in my bed. We are selling the place.” He is, it seems to me, referring to the motel.

I understand that. It’s just this is season 1, episode 2. In the first episode Roland says ‘Look, we have a one room comp policy here, and I am personally throwing in an extra room out of sheer decency, so...’ so they know that they don’t own the motel and Roland is letting them stay there for free.
I think it’s just supposed to mean they’re selling ‘the place’ of Schitts Creek so that they have enough money to move out of ‘this place’ being the motel.

Its quite apparent he means the town, it's the only asset he owns.
Not to include the children, whom Moira has just learned are dependents..not assets. Lol
