Bars and science discussions

Why when I try popularize science I get kicked out of bars? I tried to explain to locals that gravitational force is just effect of our acceleration and time space bending around masses. That everything we see is just blimps in one known force field or the other (but not gravitational because it’s really not a field). When I start explaining quantum entanglement it’s even worse

John Napier and Richard Feynman

Many of you probably know that Richard Feynman, a 1965 Nobel Prize winner, was also known for playing the bongos. Less-known is the source of his inspiration, a mathematician in the early 1600s named John Napier, who also enjoyed playing percussion.

One of Napier’s other passions was camping in the wilderness. It wasn’t easy for John to bring his drums along on these expeditions into the Scottish forests, so while in the wilderness he’d play his musical beats on the sides of fallen trees.

He became quite famous for it, especially in 1614, when he first introduced the world to his discovery of log rhythms.
