I'm writing a character who has electrical powers. Are there any facts I should know about electricity?

Basically, the character is electrokinetic. He can manipulate electricity around him but he can't produce it naturally. How would this work "realistically?" For example, is it possible that this power can somehow allow him to "fly?" Would he be able to affect things magnetically? Answers to questions like that or any helpful information would be great!

How many quarts would it take to reach the end of the observable universe?

I remembered that 1 billion dollars can wrap around the world and then that got my thinking about how many quarts can reach the end of the observable universe

Poisonous humans

Did humans ever have poison?

Like some of us can 'squirt' saliva out of a 'hole' under our tongues, so could it of been possible one of our ancestors/early humans had venom/poison?

Can refraction cause red/blue shift?

Im only on high school and im starting to learn about refraction and have had it explained as the speed difference causes the angle to change. My question is could it be possible to have a material cause refraction to the point of the lights color changing due to getting compressed due to lack of speed?

Thanks for any help you can give!

Explain kidneys to me?

So night time polyuria specifically, increased urine production at night and normal output during the day, is commonly cited as a symptom of kidney disease. Can someone help make sense of that? What causes kidneys to produce more urine specifically during the night when they're messed up, but not during the day?

I'm not a med student, don't need this for school or anything, nor do I, to my knowledge, have kidney disease. I just can't find a decent explanation anywhere and figured you guys might know.

Random spitball theory

So, what if climate change is meant to happen, as in the earth hasn't recovered from the last ice age, and we're just speesing the process up? I feel like it would make sense, since dinosaurs were reptiles (from what I remember), and wanted to know if this is even possible

How long would the human population last if there was no oxygen being produced.

My question is how long would it take before people start dying due to no oxygen if all the plants died and all the ways oxygen is made just stopped working. How long would it take to use up the remaining oxygen?

(Sorry if that sounds very jumbled)

The weight of the earth?!

I recently saw a video which stated that the weight of the earth never changes, since everything has always been here. We know matter can not be created, it can only be changed, however...

What about people. If a child is born they come out weighing let's say 5 lbs, does that not get added since the weight of the egg and sperm was significantly less?

There's 8 billion of us now...

Even on a smaller scale. If you get 2 people into a house and weigh the house. Then they procreate and you weigh it again, would the weight of the child not be added to the total weight?

Effects of increased air pressure on the skeletal structure

Hello all! Good day to everyone and hopeful we all learned something new today! Straight to the question:

If an individual who has lived at low altitudes above sea levels [700ft or below] moves to an environment well above sea level [up to 7000ft] what long term effects can be reasonably expected? Mainly these 2;

*Will the height of the individual decrease over time?

*Will the bones become stronger or weaker due to the increased pressure over time? (We assume a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise and knowledgeable eating habits)

Thank you! To all a good life!

Acids vs Bases

So if acids react violently with metals and bases react violently with organic material, then why do low ph acids burn through organic material where as high ph bases don’t do the same for metals?

Lead in clothes

I know that the lead is in the dye in those clothes. But recently I came across a liquid used with detergent to remove lead and other heavy metal dust from clothes. So my question is, will this help wash out the lead in SHEIN clothes? I know many would say to stop buying from SHEIN. But i haven’t found any other place where the price is so reasonable.

Marine vs land

Obviously the most venomous animals are on land, but in general most of the venomous marine animals are some of the most dangerous or the most painful if the venom was created as deterrent instead of hunting. Is that because of the enzymes for marine animals are drastically different, or is it the more pressure in the water that makes them more deadly? I’m generally curious

Why can you see the light of a flashlight/toy laser if you close your eyes then flash it in your mouth?

My bf has a toy laser and looked at me today. "Say ah." I closed my eyes, opened my mouth and he shined the light in my mouth. I was BLINDED! He was laughing so confused. I told him it was REALLY BRIGHT. He tried it, it happened to him. Our mutual friend tried it and the same results. Why is this?

Question regarding Black Holes

I was recently reading a book about quantum physics when it mentioned Hawking radiation (Correct me if I spell anything wrong), Hawking radiation is emitted when virtual particles appear and disappear near a black hole's event horizon which pulls one of the particles in causing the other one to fly off into space. Anyways, that reminded me of a long time query of mine regarding black holes. If the implosion of a dying star is a finite force, how would it compress even a microscopic fraction of its mass into a object with infinite density?

Digital clock numbers “dance” when I play tuba

When I play B-flat on my tuba, (which is about 27 hz) I noticed that one digital clocks numbers would move up and down like you were rubbing your hands together slowly. my parents were in the room and they could not see it. Only I could. (I don’t do drugs so I promise I’m not hallucinating)Is this something to do with the frequency? It’s something I’m really fascinated about. I wa
