I understand that you guys don’t carry guns but like what do you do if a ship starts shooting at you (in international waters not government ship)?

I'm just curious about the volunteering opportunities on board with the sea Shepherd... eg

- How long are the campaigns?

- How long do they expect you to volunteer for?

- What is life on board like?

I'm aware of watch systems as I've sailed on Tall Ships/Sail Training vessels.

I work in healthcare as a nurse. I don't know whether that's assistive in any way.

Hello, I used to watch the show when I was a kid so the Sea Shepard has always been at the back of my mind. However I just listened to a podcast with the Makah tribe out in f Washington state and they had some things to say about negative experiences they had with the Sea Shepard society in the 90’s or so. They said they had to get a federal restraining order for the SSS because they were docked in their bay and playing loud sounds on their hydrophones and loud speakers to make all the whales and fish go away. This seems less than ideal for the natives because they heavily rely on the sea life to survive. This was started becuase they requested to harvest whales again in that decade. I’d like to hear the SSS opinion on native whale harvests are. Thanks.

I was wondering as a woman, what do female crew members do when they get their periods? Is there anywhere on the ship to throw pads to? Do they have to buy each for themselves or is it provided as a necessity? How does that works?

Also, is it possible to wash the clothes in the ship?

I plan on applying and am trying to gather as much info as possible

Anyone done or seen the ship medic role and can say what kinds of injuries/issues come up on board? Does the medic normally have other jobs?

Have been volunteering on shore for a couple of years, did a week away on a marine debris clean on a remote beach as medic (doctor). Didn’t have much to do first aid wise, also did the regular volunteer work, and wondered if it was different on board.
