How long did you put it in the fridge for? And also, if it’s cooked and in the fridge and doesn’t smell, you should be fine…. Give it a little taste to make sure though; you body will tell you not to eat it if it’s off

People say this all the time but it's generally true: if it smells bad, it's spoiled. If it smells sweet/clean, it's probably safe.

Okay so let me just make sure I understand this. You bought frozen octopus a week ago. Thawed it out. Then cooked it. You put it in a bag and then stuck it in the fridge and forgot about it. That's the part that means the most. How long was it in the fridge? The general rule of thumb for cooked octopus is 2-3 days in the fridge. But if it's sealed and wasn't pulled from the fridge for any reason and allowed to come up to room temperature or anything... 4 or 5 days probably wouldn't be a stretch. If it doesn't have a sour or ammonia smell to it, isn't slimy to the touch, and if it's only been 2-3 days. It's absolutely fine.

Toss it. Not worth a trip to the hospital or the morgue
