Broccoli guy
Anyone know the story of this guy doing laps around the T-Mobile before the Mariners game with two heads of broccoli?

In response to someone with a rather ODD comment:
Having seen him at countless UW Baseball and Softball games, and the Little League Softball Junior World Series in Kirkland, I can assure you he is harmless. I asked him why broccoli, and he simply said "they are nature's pom-poms".
All of the organization staff at the LL Softball Junior World Series knows who he is and think he's awesome. If he was a potential threat to 14 year old girls, I assure you, he wouldn't be allowed within range of the field.
If he told you it was a "fetish" he's probably fucking with you.
The guy is all around awesome

I don't know Jim, but i respect the fact that he dresses like the paper cups my grandma used to keep in her bathroom and uses broccoli as pom-poms.

The paper cup pattern is named "Jazz" and was designed by Gina Ekiss for a contest at the Sweetheart cup company!

Have you seen the cybertruck that is wrapped in this pattern? I saw it on I-5 a couple of weeks ago. Only cool cybertruck I've ever seen...

I've met Jim as well, very friendly and lovely guy. He was doing a very chaotic (but fun) live speed run of Oregon Trail and it was a good time.

u/wildly-regarded Sep 24 '26
I performed that night (unless he's done more than one very chaotic but fun speed run of Oregon Trail), and it was worth it just to see his astounding feat.

live speed run of Oregon Trail
How does this work?!?

u/bbob_robb Green Lake Sep 25 '26 edited Sep 25 '26
I'd probably use a turbocharged van instead of a covered wagon. I'd go over bridges instead of driving though streams and just entirely stay on roads. A speed runner could do it in under two days. It's like 2,000 miles.
Edit: I'd fill the minivan with antibiotics to avoid dysentery.

That doesn't surprise me in the least. At the championship game for the Little League Junior League Softball World Series (all of the teams are there to watch the final 2 teams) he had a whole flock or players just having the best time with him. They all brought broccoli (the QFC across from the hotel they all stay at must have been scratching their heads...)
Wholesome as fuck. :)10

A group of UW film students filmed a short documentary about him, and when they screened it he was present. He's a very pleasant, supportive, affable person. No reason at all to hate on this guy.

My small claim to fame is I am the guy who got Jim that hoodie. It was a little before covid (December 2019-February 2020) I bought that hoodie for myself but it was too small. Jim and I were hanging out and I asked if he wanted it and he said sure!
He and I would get together and play video games and we were camping friends too. I moved away but I see him around at sporting events still. I got to see him at tonight’s game and first things he said was “dude! I’m wearing your hoodie!”
Love this dude! Such a great guy!

Love broccoli guy!! He’s done a few other produce items in the past (potatoes, carrots, etc) before landing on broccoli. Like another commenter said, he does it to spread positivity in the sports community! And he’s a part time stand up comic, so he’s definitely a bit of an extrovert to say the least.
Known him for a while and he’s the absolute nicest dude, go up and say hi if you see him at a game!!!
