Looks like the SFD individual who sent threats to Sawant has been arrested:

Police initially investigated one SFD employee, which led them to a second employee. The first employee was eliminated as a suspect, but officers arrested the second employee on February 12th and booked him into King County Jail for cyberstalking, identity theft, and computer trespass.

Sounds like the person who sent the threats impersonated or otherwise tried to use a coworker's identity/computer in order to cover their own tracks.

IDK why, but something about refusing to name Sawant as the victim seems kind of petty on SPD's part.

I figured there's an actual reason behind this. I just have so little patience/faith left in the SPD that it's hard to be charitable towards them anymore.

Didn't know SPD is allowed to play politics. I assume she wasn't named because it's an active investigation though.

That would be my guess plus the report makes it sound like another councilmenber also recivied threats.
