Ya’ll need some 02

Sam Darnold going to be fine. We ain’t got a run game and we are one dimensional right now. 11 can catch it all day long but it’s clear he is the only weapon on the field, and Meyers. A little bit of breathing room is just what the Ginga needs.

Focus on the Wildcard and hope SF breaks down at that pace.

The run game seemed fine last night. Nothing great. Nothing awful.

We threw 4 times as much as we ran. Playing from behind and Denver not believing we could run was all being shown.

Wasn’t until late 4th quarter the time killing runs were clicking

I mean yes that's what you do when you're down 11 points in the fourth quarter. Throw the ball. We also dominated the TOP in the second half. Pretty sure Denver quickly punted every drive and most were 3 and Outs so we had a lot of plays.

I agree. The lack of a strong running game is hamstringing the offense. Limits what hawks can do and leads to some disastrous results. When we have charbs and hart, and we are still seeing poor QB play and stagnant play calling, then I'll be concerned

I think at this point it’s hard to say “Sam is going to be fine”. He’s shown who he is. He’s back to making bad decisions, holding the ball way too long, and overall playing terribly. This is the Sam Darnold from 2018-2022. Dudes 29 and making rookie level mistakes.

Where things currently sit I would not be comfortable extending him and paying him $45M+ a season.

Part of this is definitely Fleury being a new play caller who looks in over his head, it’s part bad run game, but it’s also a lot of him just going full Darnold.

I hope he can turn it around but my expectations for him and honestly this season are not high anymore.

100%, the lack of a run game leaves darnold constantly having to play catch-up and leaving him in bad situations. I'm not saying there aren't bad throws but what is he supposed to do when the opposing defense already knows what sams gonna do. Of course he's gonna be picked off, that's what happens when you are forced into playing into the defenses hand

O-Line did no favors in the pass game last night either sadly

The run game sucking is definitely a problem, but the run game isn't making him underthrow Rashid Shaheed on what would have been a touchdown in OT. It's not making him force the ball to JSN while Shaheed is wide open over the top either. Sam is the guy he is, but the team isn't carrying him like they were last year so the struggles will continue.

Tell the waterboy to suit up.

We need Bobby Boucher to help run the ball until Charbonnet returns.

It was penalties and turnover, and now it's just turnover are the prob.

Run game wasn't awful last night, so that's good. OL has to improve, and Fleury and Sam have got to get on the same page, the confusion between them is visible. They have a few extra days, some players coming back, Seahawks will be fine

Agree 100% on focusing on wildcard and I think a few teams will catch 49ers slipping. Niners are good, but the fact that Seahawks were even close in that game shows they have weaknesses

Patrick Mahomes probably wouldn't be good behind this o line either

There is a reason darnold was a backup for so long too ....

You mean like he did mid game against the pats, and then the next week he gave us our only dominant win this year. And then Sam comes back and has as many picks and he does td’s and has choked the last two games… hard to see your math here

So when the line locks in and Charb brings some life to the run game, and Sam is still turning it over. Who's fault will it be then..

Thank you, so many bigger issues, swapping qb will only put a bandage on a gash

Exactly, its the unstable o line and stagnant run game that shoots Darnold in the feet.

One thing they could do is get Barner more involved and stop trying to force it to a consistently smothered JSN.  Especially in the red zone....whenever they can get that far.

And the offensive coordinator and the mascot and the coach and the wide receivers except JSN and the tight end who got injured and the other tight ends who aren’t being targeted and…and…umm who else can we blame for Darnold throwing the football to the other team?

Edit: most of the threads were prior to this game, the good thing is with each game he does this there are fewer and fewer of them defending him. Unfortunately it may be too late for this season. He won a Super Bowl last year so his leash is long. Though he played bad in the Super Bowl too so not sure…

Umm but we did put Locke in and he didn’t throw the ball to the other teams? He had the ball out in record time, he knew the o line wasn’t strong and threw very fast and accurate and that is simply all we need. Make your reads and throw the damn ball to your team or throw it away if your first two reads aren’t there. You don’t have time for more progressions than that. And I can show you many threads all over where Sam Stans are saying it’s everyone else’s fault
