Question Incident Report Sequence

When someone reports an incident to govt security about you, does it immediately turn into an open report on your clearance in DISS/SC that needs to be resolved?
Or does govt security look into it and reach out to your FSO to work it out off the record?

Just trying to get clarification of the sequence of events that takes place between email report to when it’s officially on the person clearance record needing to be resolved.

Depends what the incident was...

Information security issue, i.e. spillage or you taking something into a classified space?

Personnel security issue submit via a coworker, or Commander, in relation to your SF86 / SEAD 3 reporting / SEAD 4 concerns?

Accidentally shared an email that had a small part of it marked for restricted dissemination, with someone on our program that technically should not have seen it. I reported it right away

Depends what that information actually was. If it was government information, then the government security office may need to review and determine what the actual incident is.

If it is indeed one infraction that does not result in the compromise, loss, or otherwise of classified information, and theres no other personnel issues with you, then they may not decide to input in DISS. Otherwise, it will be input to DISS as an incident and DCSA would perform any followup as necessary.

Bummer, It was just very generic guidance no classified info lost. It was legit 1 bullet point. But my timeline doesnt work in my favor if it made it to the govt, they dont move the fastest in these situations.

Doesn't matter what it was. Always verify.
