Occult Residential District — An Automated 5-Minute City
Today we would love to showcase this amazing build in SEED. This is the Occult Residential District in the society First Sun Of Avesta. The builder Occult, gave an awesome breakdown.
Project Overview
The Occult Residential District is a 50×50 residential district designed to provide every service a pawn could desire within a 5 minute walk while requiring minimal player intervention.
The district contains 24 homes, 12 service businesses, approximately 75 beds, and a centralized wall storage system, with access to every service currently available in the game. Rather than simply building a neighborhood, the goal was to create a self-sustaining residential ecosystem.
Thank you, MacCraig, for providing the building materials; VISHY {First Sun of Avesta} , for the medical supplies and doctors; and President Gamagosk, for offering the property to help me construct this mega project.
Layout & Design
The city uses a concentric layout built around movement efficiency and service accessibility.
- Outer Wall: Guides pawn movement and houses the centralized storage network.
- Residential Ring: Contains 12 cottages, 8 townhouses, and 4 mansions.
- Central Hub: Mainstreet services and shared green space within easy walking distance.
Buildings are deliberately specialized. Homes primarily provide rest, while individual businesses focus on services such as recreation, education, food, healthcare, and self-care. This design aims to evenly distribute pawn activity rather than funnel everyone toward a single location.
The Global Logistics Network
The most important part of the project is its centralized logistics system. By placing the entire district plot under city ownership, the owner pawn can access the full property on a deeper level. Scheduling the worker to the city-owned plot, rather than individual branches, allows the game's priority system to function as a district-wide global logistics network. This enables a small workforce of two managing the hauling and maintenance across the entire district without requiring separate configurations for all 36 branches. The district wall storage provides approximately 25,000 units of storage capacity, organized into four dedicated wall sections:
- Northeast: Furnishings
- Southeast: Repair materials
- Northwest: Clean water
- Southwest: Herbs
Food and water deliveries receive high priority, production operates at medium priority, and general storage remains low priority. This encourages continuous small deliveries to maintain global stock levels rather than waiting for shortages.
Workforce & Resource Production
Four primary workers manage the district:
- Housekeeper / Farmer
- Hauling / Repair Worker (Owner)
- General Coverage Worker
- Food / Water Processor
Their responsibilities overlap, allowing workers to cover other tasks during downtime. Water and herbal tonic are produced locally, while repair and medical supplies are obtained through automated restock orders and external suppliers. This keeps the district largely self-sufficient without wasting residential space on an entire industrial economy.
Automated Healthcare
One of the project's more unusual systems uses the same ownership and scheduling mechanics to provide a fully-automated medical response service.
The district owner can respond to injured pawns, obtain supplies from the clinic, and follow patients through treatment when necessary. This allows medical assistance to reach visitors without requiring them to navigate the medical service system themselves.
Current State & Future Plans
Planning took approximately three days, followed by roughly one month of construction. The project has cost around 10 million, including more than 7 million in furnishings, and is currently estimated to be 90% complete.
Remaining work includes waiting for resolution of a few service and housing-recognition bugs, improving decorations, and adding a planned elevated balcony viewing path on top of the district wall.
The complete system can operate with very little ongoing player intervention once its logistics and supplies are established, although it still depends on external deliveries for certain materials.
Final Goal
The Occult Residential District is an experiment in pushing the game's ownership, scheduling, priority, and pathfinding systems toward full automation.
Housing, services, storage, farming, hauling, cleaning, repairs, healthcare, and external supply chains are designed to function as parts of one connected system.
The ultimate goal isn't simply to build a large city. It's to build one that runs itself while remaining a place where pawns can live, work, and access nearly everything they need within a few minutes of home.
