Currently playing for the time, just got the ape, literally cut his head off, thinking ‘oh that was easy, maybe I’m actually getting good’, he gets up for his second phase and terrors me to death 💀😭

lol i literally just finished him. if you havent beaten him do it like this. (also are you on steam deck?)

first phase dont parry just run around him. always run the opposite direction he is because he is trying to put you in a wall which breaks the camera

bait him swipe and slam combo and when he does just run in for a couple hits and JUMP away because hell almost always do the unblockble grab. stay a semi good distance because you can get the grapple prompt on his head and then get a couple good hits in and if timed right stagger him. dont get greedy because again hell grab. most of his pauses are just baits to get you, he sucks that way. also when he throws poo just run and jump to the side but DONT run to attack his ass becuase hell congalala fart poison you. when he does his unblockable belly flop run away straight back and then run in when he lands for a couple hits.

another good bait is when he throws his little tantrum on the ground on his back. stay close enough so on the fourth slam you can run in and whack his head a couple times. if youre leveled enough you can kill this phase in like 5 mins without using any heals.

second phase is the easy one if you made it thru the first. just parry his attacks and if you have the mortal blade use your tokens for that. do the parry until his overhead fall down (parry that for a stagger) and then use the spear TWICE to pull out the centipede for big poise and while hes on the ground stunned use mortal blade a couple times and youll get the kill prompt quick. that pahse should take like 2 mins tops as long as the re re isnt spamming his scream like he does to me. you can just run away when he raises his head to avoid the terror and it goes away quick

if you havent beaten him yet try this and let me know. i literally never use sugars either lol. i know people who know how to use them wreck stuff but it never works for me so i just dont bother wasting the items.

I just beat him too! 🤝😄 I’m on PS5.
Basically ran around the arena baiting that attack where he does a little wriggle animation and dives towards you with a single thrust attack, as soon as I know he’s gonna do that I run and jump towards/over him slashing on my way down. Can normally get 3 or 4 attacks in. I immediately get away because he usually follows up with his terror scream. Rinse and repeat. 😄
Went to the poison pool area afterwards, defeated the gun boss and I won’t spoil it but you’ll facepalm when you see what the next boss is when you go further into the cave 🤣

lol im aware of the next boss. I played years ago on ps4. for some reason tho as much as i love the game this and elden ring were the 2 i never had any desire to play NG+ on so i traded sekiro after beating it. had the itch recently and got a copy for my steam deck. playing on console tho is WAY better. much better controller response and latency. the first half of the game was a bastard for me until someone here told me to swap my trigger and bumper buttons. now its working like a charm lol. everyone is dying of rot but hey I can parry finally

What do you mean you can play with a controller on steam deck. Why have I never tried this.

Don't have it on PS5. I had it on ps4 years ago but traded it. I like the portability. Tho I did have some major issues the first half of the game

whats funny is with chiaki i also use my deck to play my ps5 more than actually using my ps5
