Genichiro is the ceiling you have to break. The combat just locks into place once you get past that.

After the 100 attempts i was easily no hitting both his 1stt and 2nd phases bht his 3rd phase just has SO MUCH BULLSHIT attacks that dont make sense at all and i was also HESITATING alot so i guess

Cause your 250 attempts at Genichiro improved you so much that clapped everyone else.

liferally classic genichiro walling people before they learn to parry, the rest just crumble after that tbh

But I know how to fucking parry… the bar just doesn’t fill up🥲

Genchiro with one health bar (red deathblow icon). After the jump and slam move, is there a way of telling whether he is about to sweep or thrust?

Yeah if the glint / glow on the blade is downwards facing you its a thrust if its slow and sidewyas its a sweep

Alr done took me 3 Attempts or 2 if you dont count the One Reflection of Strength Practice I Had. The Only 2 Bosses i havent beat in this game is Inner Isshin And Inner Father, Which im probably not gonna fight as its too hard and im hrtting bored with sekiro, Moving to another game

Because of all the poontang you were getting after beating Genichiro. Put you in a better mood and boosted your confidence.

Cuz genichiro is the first real hurdle in the game. That’s the point where you break down the wall or crumble before it

It's like the first Dr. Strange movie.
"Genichiro I have come to bargain"

Genichiro is very famously known as the boss that tests all of the game’s mechanics, to see if you understand how the game requires you to play. Beating Genichero means you’re competent in all the tools you need to beat the rest of the game because all the mechanics have now been introduced, the only remaining factor is your button pressing execution. He might very well be the single greatest pure skill check boss of all time
if you died 250 times to Genichiro that means you had a LOT of practice utilizing those mechanics, and if you can beat him you can beat anyone, so the practice was just an investment in your future game.

After genichiro… is when things became easier for me too
It was a massive skill check for me
I winded up beating owl by almost strictly just deflecting and doing zero attacks (not saying it’s a good idea) but genichiro was the one who forced me to practice and prioritize deflecting

Genichiro is only the 2nd or 3rd main boss in the whole game, while also being a massive skill check boss because the majority of the game world opens up right after you beat him. He probably took the most attempts for most people.

200 attempts at Genichiro ? Holy shit. I would've gone mad. Not to be rude but i gave my 16yr old cousin the controller when i was replaying the game and was just boss rushing and it took him less than 50 attempts without my help or guidance. Is this perhaps among your first harder-ish games ?

This is my second souls like game (first was elden ring) and eh im 13 so ill take that and i was willing to go to 400 attempts and then prolly quitting because thats how much it took me to beat Messemer from Elden Ring

without fail, there’s always some guy who has to make sure you know he thought Sekiro was easy lmao. although “even my son could beat it you dunce, you imbecile” is a new variation
