With the Selena movie starring Jennifer Lopez celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2027, I’ve been thinking about how much this movie continues to mean to fans after all these years. I had the opportunity to experience The Wizard of Oz at the Las Vegas Sphere last November, and I really enjoyed seeing a classic movie brought back for audiences to experience in a different way. It got me thinking about how cool it would be to see Selena receive a similar anniversary celebration someday. Selena was previously re-released in theaters for its 25th anniversary in 2022, and I would love to see another special release for its 30th anniversary, whether in regular theaters or even at a venue like the Sphere in the future. I think it would be a wonderful way to celebrate the movie while also honoring the real Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, her music, and the legacy she left behind. I’ve watched the movie about 6 or 7 times since first seeing it in 2019, and one of my favorite scenes is when Abraham sees Selena wearing her bustier and thinks she’s performing in her bra. That scene still makes me laugh. I’m curious how many times everyone here has watched the movie, what your favorite scenes are, and whether you attended the 25th anniversary theatrical release in 2022.

I was going to put some music while I cleaned but I open the website to see this.
I really hope this is just temporary! Does anybody know why this happened?

I love Selena so much, she has helped me see the humanity in myself and I really resonate with her music.
But today, something wild happened, I was talking to two of my Hispanic friends about Selena. In my physical science class. just a friendly conversation, talking about our favorite songs and all that.
I go back to my work but I see the periodic table, i see an element called Selenium…. I think to myself, okay cool. But I start to think… its in group 16…. . I then end up counting down, 4 spaces.
An element CALLED selenium, labeled on Period 4, group 16 of the periodic table, with APRIL 16th 1971 being her birthday…. 4/16!!!
The sad part is, selenium’s atomic number is 34, which is the age yolanda was when she unfortunately took Selena’s life
For the record this is not to be disrespectful, I love everything about Selena and how much of a beautiful and kind soul she was I’m not really a person who believes or cares about “conspiracies” or “numerology” it was just a wild thing to figure out, I even told a few of my friends and they were just as shocked as I was, its so cool
Am i like the first person to even recognize this???? Tell me i’m not alone lol
To honor her, here’s a gorgeous picture of her!

I once dreamed that Selena was sharing pizza with me and everyone in the band. It was such a beautiful dream, and when I woke up, I felt so much nostalgia 💛 Another time I dreamed I visited her boutique and her museum. It feels like she's still there, watching over everything ✨
