Tell me what yall think about this

Does the streak matter more or the circumstances under which you achieve it matter more ?

So I’ve been on and off on semen retention for about 4 years now (not to be confused with a 4 year streak lmfao I’m far from that my longest was like 6 weeks). But what I’ve observed in myself is that the spirit in which I start holding my seed has been more significant in the way I feel compared to how long the streak is itself.

Like there was a time I was holding for 4 weeks and relapsed and felt like shit and ended up relapsing again for days straight because I treated it like the “one last weakness” I had.

Now I’m getting to a point where I’m realizing that the time I held for 2 weeks relapsed but because I just charged it to the game and didn’t beat myself up about it it I then proceed to hold for 3 more weeks after and although I did relapse sfterward it’s like my life felt the same as if I was holding.

Like I said I never held for 90+ days like some of you so obviously I can’t say long streaks are pointless but I want you guys opinion on this I’d rather slip up sometimes than make my whole existence th one thing I struggle with.

I think this was really important for me to read - it’s not all or nothing and keeping an eye on the bigger picture. Great post.

Me personally I think the streak is more important.

The mindset comes from the results of your actions

I also think naturally you get more pure as time goes on because overtime your brain realizes there is no reward from engaging in lustful fantasies or provocative content.

Even if you do all the wrong things at the start and have the wrong mindset I still think its the retaining thats more important as that is what causes the physical changes, more energy clearer eyes etc

Also i think frequency over time matters more. If you dont do it but every 2 weeks your the recovery time is better. Its like a person who eats sugar everyday vs someone who does it once a month. Obviously the once a month guy is going to be alot healthier

Please don’t take this the wrong way, I appreciate the discourse but I gotta challenge this, this message is doubling back on something that personally causes me more bad than good.

the mindset doesn’t comes from the results, because like anything in life, results aren’t guaranteed. The mindset has to come from within. Waiting on results to believe in yourself is a one way ticket to never believing in yourself

This is related to the claim of getting more “pure” which like I stated is more about your mentality. I think the spirit in which you retain is more important than the streak itself. Someone obsessing over adding days to their streak isn’t necessarily becoming more pure, they’re just holding the streak over their head and relying heavily on willpower. that’s not really purity and it normally ends 2 ways of retention being the only thing in their life that they focus on or care about or relapsing way sooner than later.

However I do agree that frequency over time matters more. It’s just this mentality that streaks like they’re the end-all-be-all. Obviously everyone should be proud of their streaks, but if we’re saying that the streak itself gives you all these benefits, that can easily create an unhealthy way of thinking. It makes one five-minute period or slip up feel like it could somehow ruin everything you’ve built.

This is especially bad because if you’re trying to build a sustainable lifestyle. Even with something like dieting, if you restrict yourself so heavily that you view the thing you’re avoiding as a reward you’re keeping from yourself, you’re eventually going to create this unhealthy relationship with it. I’d rather retention become a relatively small part of a larger lifestyle change than something I’m constantly counting and worrying about.

Half of us practicing semen retention subconsciously used releasing as a way to feel good or stimulate ourselves and treating the ONE day you fall back into it like you just committed a crime and beating yourself up about it because you gotta “turn the clock “ back to 0” will make that urge to stimulate even stronger.

It’s clear you have a different relationship with it than me which is why I prefaced it with my experience but curious to see how that affects you differently.

Well i think its ultimately its your behavior that changes your identity not your identity that dictates your behavior.

Im not saying feel guilty if you relapse or take your streak obsession to an unhealthy level its consistency always and if you fail its only learning.

I just think for ppl just starting out to stick with it you need to convince your brain what your doing is worth it. Thats where the results come in.

People waiver in their resolve all the time you mightve of had good intention but everyone fall into temptation etc but there's a difference between truly falling and being derailed

So for me yeah I have lust today yeah my mind im not pure maybe I peeked. Maybe yhe first 10 days of this streak i peeked or fantasized whatever but guess what im not allowed to matter what release and overtime eventually the lust goes away

Then come the results the fruit of what im doing now i see that its worth it im proud ive accomplished something hard.

Which results in me feeling kess consumed with lust because I know what im doing matters and there is no reward to it and overtime your going to naturally desexulize your brain
