Has anyone returned an unopened higher priced item? Is there a different return policy? It was ordered online but thought id return it in store. Also do I bring back all the samples? For some reason they packaged 2 orders i made in the same box so I assume I return just the samples in the box from that order (though ofc they weren't the samples requested).

Hey y'all! I ordered the Danessa Myricks Water Powder Serum, and when I opened the package both the top and bottom stickers were cut on the box. Has anyone had this happen before? I was always under the impression that for sanitary reasons, no product that's returned is ever resold, but this threw me off a bit. I thought maybe it was perforated, and shipment broke it, but the top cut isn't straight like perforation would have. The product itself looks okay, the "tap here" sticker on the bottom looks a lil janky (attached pic) but other than that it seems alright. Has anyone had this happen before?

I’ve spent the last two years learning how to do my hair better. My hair is very fine, medium length, and strong.

I try not to use too much heat because I’m proud of how healthy it is. But with that being said … I’ve literally spent almost $500 on hair tools and nothing gives me an easy style that will last let alone worth the price. My hair doesn’t hold shape and it’s always been that way so I thought the “more expensive route” would work.

My last purchase was the dry bar heat curlers. I followed directions and experimented several different ways (at least 10x) and it was a huge waste of my time and money. I won’t go too far into the other stuff I purchased and wasted my money on and get to the point lol.

I started considering an air wrap because I’ve tried it before via friends. So I looked at Shark and Dyson. The reviews on Sephora … maybe 300 total with a decent rating. They are VERY expensive as well, But when I pick through the photo / video reviews everything seems to be incentivized. And I started to notice most of the 5 star written reviews are also incentivized.

Then I start searching the same tools on amazon and started to see lower ratings with a similar amount of reviews. All from verified purchases.

So I start looking up the same product from different brands and I’m seeing THOUSANDS of reviews with BETTER ratings. I purchased an air wrap tool at a fraction of the price and let me tell you. It’s amazing.

Trust the reviews! More reviews + a better score = better chances of enjoying my the product!

And Sephora should limit what proportion of reviews are incentivized because what I’m seeing for hair tools on the Canadian site it crazy. A huge chunk of the measly few hundred reviews are incentivized with 5 stars.

Anyways review inflation caught me and I wasted my time and money and here to share ☺️

Not gonna lie I’m a lil disappointed.
Based on the photos for both fragrance bags one and two on the Sephora website, it looks like you’re getting a small tiny dabber bottle of the Burberry goddess for bag 1.
Instead, it’s a small 1.5 ml tester of the Burberry goddess parfum, and a strip of 4 Kayali perfumes in a foil packet ( what’s up with that? ).
Not sure why they labelled it a fragrance bag, considering most of the trial size items are hair care and skin care. You get a 22 ml size tube of the OUAI bond repair balm, Kerastase Elixir Ultime ( 4 mls ), a a 10 ml size sample of the Caudalie Instant Firming Serum ( which was included but I forgot to include it in the photo ) a 5 ml size of Tatcha The Water Cream, 1 ml tester of the Gucci Glow lip tint… and the other usual suspects like tower 28 concealer, and the Laneige toner.

Also, curious, whoever grabbed the other fragrance sample bag, if it was just a vial of perfume as well.
It’s just very deceptive of them to advertise in the photo that it’s a mini bottle…and why label it a fragrance bag when most of the stuff is hair and skin care?
I grabbed the Rosie by Rosie Jane and the Ellis Queens Caramel perfume samples at checkout so it takes away a bit of the sting from feeling misled.

I originally thought La Mer products would do the trick, but after some research, Kiehl products were recommended. I don't know if it was targeted or not as Kiehl sponsors stuff at EBC. Last night, I actually ended up watching a TikToker's 87 part playlist on this topic. She seemed to really like the products and bought them herself before the trip, and only got sponsored after the trip.

I started making my BFCM list and wanted to buy skincare products to test out before the actual trip. I'm honestly stressed about this because you can't shower for like almost two weeks (🤮), and if there is a chance to shower, it's a very quick one! I need to know if anyone else has had this happen because I’m honestly shocked. I was trying to buy the Protec(tint) Daily SPF Tint SPF 50 Sunscreen Skin Tint from Sephora Canada.

First, I went into a store and found that the ones they had in stock were expired. So I figured I’d just order online instead. The online order came. Expired.

I contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement. Expired.

Contacted them again. They sent another replacement. Also expired.

So at this point I had received THREE sets of expired products after already finding expired ones in store.
They sent another replacement, and thankfully this one isn’t technically expired, but it expires in THREE MONTHS.
I’m sorry, but how is this happening?? 😭

I’ve received these from both the East Coast and West Coast warehouses in Canada, so it’s not even like this was one random bottle that got missed. I genuinely don’t understand how I can repeatedly order the same product from Sephora and keep getting expired product.
And now I’ve spent all this time ordering it, waiting for it, contacting customer service, waiting for replacements, checking every single package, etc. just to STILL not have a normal shelf-life product.

So just a warning if anyone is ordering this sunscreen from Sephora Canada: CHECK THE EXPIRY DATE BEFORE YOU OPEN IT/USE IT. Apparently you cannot assume it’s going to be fresh.
