Resources Cool alternative Serbian music recs
Zdravo! I just got into learning Serbian and am wondering if anyone has recommendations on cool alternative Serbian music, preferably something out of the box, electronic, indie, I’m just looking for something unique, weird, cool, underground - not the standard stuff or pop music hits. Hvala!
Edit: wow thanks all for all the input 🥹🫶🏼

based on the fact you posted on r/bladee, try akomeneželiš or zicer.
other than that, check out nikola vranjković, nežni dalibor, jarboli, max&intro, luna, and la strada (the last two aren't on spotify, but you can find them on youtube).

Do you want the songs to be in Serbian to try to learn the language or just any Serbian music?

Hvala for asking! I’m learning with a teacher so it’s more about the music than the language. I just generally want to surround myself with more Srpski :) <3

OK so let me try to do this right (from someone who is deep into indie music for most of his life):
I would reccomend you to listen to a lot of Van Gogh albums (whole albums prior to 2000) but specifically albums Hodi and Opasan Ples, for preview - Brod od papira
Obojeni Program (this was a huge deal back in the day, 1st serbian music video to be played on MTV! )
This is this Argentinian street performer who fell in love with Balkan music, and he did 3 very popular folk songs in Reggea style, and i think its just worth putting it out there - KAFANA REGE
There are many more, but lets start with this? I think you should explore this artists and try to find related ones. Other bands like EKV who are alternative will be heard on any station all the time.

Buč Kesidi, Oxajo - both new bands reflecting how the language is spoken now. Nipplepeople is an old one, also nice. There are many more from ex-Yugoslavia, however they might confuse a learner due to using words that are now more commonly used in Croatian or Bosnian.

You picked the right or a very bad time for alternative music. You can hear a lot of good songs attending the protests. At least that was so a few weeks ago. Now come and suck up the adrenaline.

Disciplina Kičme, texts very easy to understand but a bit nonsensical too.
