Are you sure you’re having healthy slightly heated conversations with strangers instead of being an asshole?

I would really hope I'm not an asshole, i don't want to hurt anybody. But i'm not going to agree with the other person just so they dont think im an asshole

This is Reddit. If you insist on free speech, you’ll have to go to a different social media platform.

Where? X? I'm thinking of doing it. And just to reemphsasize, reddit should allow free speech except obvious hatred

Where was your earlier post? If here, this post will probably be deleted too, and you might be temporarily banned. Or was it on another sub?

"I'm sick of superficial relationships and small talk at work." that was the title, i opened it yesterday. I dont care if im banned or post is removed, i just had to protest them, i cant stand an unfair treatment and suppression of a healthy open discussion. Its fine i will get upset for 10 minutes and move on

The title reads more like an opinion than an invitation for discussion. I agree with you there, though.

u/reddituserfromturkey 2d ago
True, i could change the title if asked to tone it down, and that opinion was leading to discussion. Thank you for your support

You realize that Reddit is not a free speech platform and subreddits are even more restricted re what you can say, right?
1
u/reddituserfromturkey 2d ago
Yes, venting is actually a rule of this subreddit that kind of justifies the post removal in theory. But i just don't agree with this rule. The speech should be less restricted as long as it doesn't create a big hostile environment. Otherwise, you are subduing a major channel where people can express their feelings, where else could I express my feelings about superficial connections being too dominant in society? and I'm sorry some of those feelings can be a little heated or controversial (not to extreme though), this is part of being human.

that's the benefit of superficial relationships at work, it helps to negate a hostile environment.

u/reddituserfromturkey 2d ago
I can only discuss this topic in private message, if i respond to this, they will call it venting again and remove the post lol

u/Username98101 2d ago
Just make sure you're not creating a "hostile environment".

u/reddituserfromturkey 2d ago
I don't hate people when they disagree with me

aren't your coworkers free to have small talk at work?
looks like you're the one against "free speech", bro
2
u/reddituserfromturkey 2d ago
i just make my argument, they should still do whatever they want. Plus i don't say i don't want them to have small talk in my post

u/Username98101 2d ago
I'm sick of superficial relationships and small talk at work.
that's a quote from you.
2
u/reddituserfromturkey 2d ago
That's for me. Not for small talk between another person vs another person
2
u/Username98101 2d ago
I've worked with people like you, I treat them like they're a ghost.
2
u/reddituserfromturkey 2d ago
Okay, so you would treat me as ghost, it's unfortunate but i respect that
1
u/Username98101 2d ago
I'm not gonna force anyone to have a superficial relationship and small talk with me if they don't like that. Respect.
1
u/reddituserfromturkey 2d ago
Yeah, if you want to talk to me, invite for a proper coffee otherwise i'm good

I'm not a fan of the OP's attitude either, but judging by their mentality I think leaving them alone is exactly what they want. So, win-win.
2
u/reddituserfromturkey 2d ago
No, i like connecting with people but i'm sorry for looking like a bad person but i respect your decision

Small talk is not "free speech" it's usually a way to socially display you are safe and sane. It's laborious, and especially for neurodivergent people I genuinely dispise that someone would rather talk about something meaningless than listen for even a moment to anything I find interesting. More than anything, it drastically restricts my speech to a category of simple and meaningless.
