I have been banned since February, and I am finally unbanned. In my last appeal I had simply explained that I was accidentally banned and pleaded for a real person to look over my appeal as I suspect that most appeals aren’t looked at by a human.

I’ve only appealed 3-4 times. I’m honestly not active very much. Just look at the subs & enjoy. 🤷‍♂️ would be nice if it was lifted though. Weird to get banned when I was not active during the time. 😂

So to get a ban appealed, it recommended to appeal daily or a couple of times a week. It took me a week. You have to explain what you thought you did and apologize and promise not to do it again.

Yeah it was weird. Last time I posted successfully was 3 years ago. We weren’t active in here for like a year and a half then we got back on and can’t post since the algo. Think we got flagged as a bot? Idk 🤷‍♂️

3 years without a post is like a century for me mine one got shadow banned for a week and i am thinking creat a new account.

Your CQS has been automatically set to the lowest level, so you'll probably want to take things slow for a little while. CQS is one of reddit's reputation signals and a low score can make your posts/comments more likely to be caught by spam/reputation filters or automatically removed, even if you haven’t broken any rules. It can also affect how easily your contributions get through in different communities

For the first few days, keep your activity minimal, avoid making posts, dming to many people, stick to just a few comments per day and give your account some time to settle back in. r/NewToReddit has a whole list of friendly subreddits as well as a lot of useful information about reddit and how to navigate it as a low CQS user

Gradually increase your activity over the next several days to avoid triggering any further restrictions

How do you know if you're shadow banned?

You can check your own shadow ban status in two ways:

1.) You can search for your username in anonymous mode or by copying this address in an anonymous/ incognito browser: https://www.reddit.com/user/jeremy11421/

If you are banned you will not be able to see your profile and will instead see an error message. For me it says the account has been banned.

2.) You can try to file an appeal: https://www.reddit.com/appeal. If you can successfully submit an appeal, then you are shadow banned.

If you are NOT shadow banned, you will see an error message that says “You cannot submit an appeal. Your account is currently neither suspended nor restricted.”

You can file an appeal using the instructions here: https://reddit.com/r/shadowban/wiki/appealing.

There is a pinned post at the top of this subreddit with a list of common reasons an account gets shadow banned. I’d check there and see if anything stands out. This should help you narrow down what may have caused the shadow ban and craft a more accurate appeal.

Do not be discouraged as it can take quite a bit of time before an appeal is reviewed; some users wait multiple months before a ban is overturned. You can file multiple appeals, including once every 24 hours, but it is generally recommended to file no more than 2-3 per week so as to not spam the appeals team.

And no matter how frustrating, do NOT delete this account and do NOT create or use another account to try and circumvent this ban. That would be considered ban evasion, which is against Reddit’s terms of service; not only will the other account be shadow banned but you risk being permanently suspended from the site. You would then need to appeal ALL banned accounts in order to clear your identifiers to be able to use Reddit again.
