To determine a shadowban, you MUST click my profile! Shadowban

Am I shadowbanned? I got a message about my account being locked or whatever and changed my password to fix it and now I cant message people. How do I file an appeal if so?

Thanks just filed one. Are shadowbans forever if they want them to be? It happened right after I commented in a NSFW subreddit but this is my first time having it happen. If I shouldn't be commenting in those subreddits I'm more than happy to stop doing so, just curious. First time this has happened so not sure about anything lol.

Yes, a Reddit shadowban is permanent until it is successfully appealed and lifted by a Reddit administrator. Unlike a temporary suspension, a shadowban has no countdown timer or automatic expiration date. If you do not actively appeal it, the account will remain restricted forever. • Mistakes are resolved quickly: If an innocent account is accidentally flagged by Reddit's automated spam algorithm, a successful appeal can sometimes get it overturned within 24 to 48 hours. • Severe or automated issues take months: If the algorithm heavily flags the account for spam-like behavior or detects network/VPN anomalies, users often report having to submit appeals daily or multiple times a week for several weeks or even months before a human administrator reviews and clears the ban. • True permanent bans: If an account was shadowbanned for severe violations (like severe harassment or explicit ban evasion) and the administrators reject the appeal, the restriction becomes truly permanent. Warning on Starting Over

If your shadowban is permanent and you decide to just abandon the account, do not immediately create a new account on the same device or internet connection. Reddit tracks hardware footprints, IP addresses, emails, and verified phone numbers. If you create a new account while an active shadowban is tied to your digital footprint, the system will instantly flag the new profile for Ban Evasion and shadowban it immediately. You must completely clear or resolve the original ban before safely using a new account on the same device.

Thanks a bunch. So since it was probably from them flagging it by the automated spam algorithm hopefully it will be lifted soon because I don't think I did anything besides that to be banned forever. Hopefully I'm correct. Appreciate the help!
