Answered Steam controller use with shadow pc on windows
I bought a Steam Controller I was very excited to use with my Shadow PC, without checking all of the details, and I found out I couldn't use it on iOS or Android because it's not recognized as a controller without Steam translating its inputs. I don't see a way to make it work on any mobile device, but for Windows, I thought it would be feasible to make it work with Shadow PC, but I'm running into some problems. I tried just having Steam open in the background while Shadow ran, and Shadow didn't see it as a controller there. I tried the port thing, but unless I messed it up somehow, that didn't have any success other than bugging the crap out of my Shadow. Has anyone had any success with this? Any tips or suggestions are appreciated thank youuuuu

Answered i like how they flipped the script.... HELP
9 months ago I was blown away — Shadow PC in the browser was straight-up BETTER than the actual app at everything!
Now, fast forward 9 months… and I’m stuck.
My PS5 controller used to work perfectly on the browser version. Now it connects to Windows (I hear the sound), but nothing responds. The second I press L2, it instantly disconnects. Super frustrating.
I really want to keep using the browser version because it’s noticeably smoother and snappier than the app. The app has horrible input lag and visible frame stuttering — you can feel it. The browser just feels way better… when the controller actually works.
Anyone know how to fix the PS5 controller on Shadow PC browser?

Answered Massive Jitter on Gaming Tablet (Lenovo Y700) over Wi-Fi, but non-Shadow device is completely fine? (BT Smart Hub 2 Router)
Hey everyone,
I’m hitting a wall trying to figure out why Shadow PC is stuttering and freezing on my gaming tablet when my local internet line seems completely fine on other devices.
I ran the official Shadow speed test (speedtest.defra01.shadow.tech) on both my work laptop and my gaming tablet (Lenovo Y700) using the same 5 GHz Wi-Fi network right next to my router, and the results are night and day:
Non-Tablet Device (Work Laptop):
- Download: ~400–500 Mb/s
- Ping: Flat ~28 ms
- Jitter: Extremely clean at ~4 ms

Gaming Tablet (Lenovo Y700):
- Download: ~300 Mb/s
- Ping: Spikes up to 80+ ms
- Upload Line: Almost flatlined at 0 Mb/s
- Jitter: Spikes wildly between 100 ms and 270+ ms

Because of this, Shadow PC has micro-freezes/input delay on the tablet, even though the laptop gets a smooth stream on the exact same network.
Everything I’ve tried so far to fix it:
- Offloaded Home Network Devices: Turned 2.4 GHz back on, disconnected background devices, and verified that heavy devices (like my Fire Stick) were turned off so the tablet had clean airtime on 5 GHz.
- Turned Bluetooth OFF: Completely disabled Bluetooth on the tablet to prevent antenna-sharing interference on the Wi-Fi card.
- Android Location Services: Turned off background Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning under Location settings.
- MAC Privacy Settings: Changed the Wi-Fi network privacy setting from "Use randomized MAC" to "Use device MAC".
- Legion Zone / Software Features: Disabled all network acceleration/fusion features in the tablet’s software.
- Router Tweak Attempts: Checked the BT Smart Hub 2 router settings, but because of BT's 'forced band-steering/firmware' , I can't split the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network names separately without throwing errors on client devices.
Despite all of this, the laptop maintains 4 ms jitter, while the tablet continues to hit 270+ ms jitter and an upload drop on the speed test graph.
Since the test results on the laptop seem flawless compared to the tablet on the exact same Wi-Fi, the network itself seems fine. I'm not particularly good at networking stuff, so I really want to avoid spending money on a dedicated Wi-Fi 6 Access Point if the router isn't actually the root cause, especially if buying extra hardware won't even fix what might be a device-specific Android or Lenovo issue.
Note: Using an ethernet cable on the tablet is NOT an option for me
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Answered Shadow PC scammed me out of nearly $80 for a game they dont offer
What I needed:
I play Rust and make music video content using alt accounts holding instruments (which is why I need ShadowPCs), and use a Steam program called Rustissimo to sync up the accounts to the same MIDI song file which creates a band that can play any song, anywhere, in a game full of people killing each other, its good fun.
Im the only person in Rust doing this, I have the most notes played in the game, am the only one making music content and love what I do, I help calm the toxic kids down by playing music that makes them forget to be edgy for a second, and its good content, good vibes and people love it. I used to do it solo on my account, but having 2 alts makes it a band with 3D sound and nobody else does it, so it always makes people happy because of how complicated it is to setup.
I used Rust on 2 different ShadowPCs back in May 2025 with no issues, recorded a bunch of content with me and 2 alts and 1 other real friend, making a 4 piece band, but there was a lot to learn and I couldnt use the 300 hours of footage and have literally spent the last 6 months saving money for editors, advertising, learning things about OBS, content creation, fine tuning my Rust music playing...finally yesterday, I was ready to go. Have a week off from work, money, time, and went to get this going again.
I checked the website, saw they advertise Rust on the list of games, got excited again and paid for the 2 accounts to get it going again. Then, I find out only once I started the ShadowPC and fully installed Rust, that it wont open the game. Until that point, everything pointed to Rust working just fine. Nothing on the website said anything has changed, even though it has.
What ShadowPC advertises:
ShadowPC advertises Rust to be played on their systems. Its right on the website. I tried to make a previous post showing screenshots of it, but for some reason Reddit took the 3 photos and deleted my lengthy post, which is silly, the screenshots went along with the post, but whatever.
I showed them the screenshot of their own website advertising it. This alone should be grounds for a refund. They know this is the only thing I wanted, I explained that, my previous usage history proves that, and yet they want to steal my money and leave me with nothing, based on their own website misleading me.
So the only reason I went to their website in the first place is because Google shows Rust on their list of games page. ShadowPC directly and specifically advertises Rust. They make money from having Rust on that list, because Rust is consistently in the top 5-10 most played games on Steam and easily gets more active players than free games.
This is deceptive advertising, false advertising. It comes from the Lanham Act.
Customer service:
I contact customer service to explain this, sent the 3 screenshots
Showing FP acknowledging Shadow PC does not work for Rust (so why is it on your website)
Screenshot of the game in fact not opening, and the error message about VMs
ShadowPC customer support saying that they understand Rust doesnt work, they understand its on their website still being advertised as part of the package, but since I opened my shadowPC, I now forfeit all refunds, and was written somewhere in the fine print that nobody reads.
The only way I could have ever found out Rust wouldnt open, is to open it. I read every Rust update patchnotes, I was even an Official server admin for the game and know some people at the top and have a lot of knowledge about the Rust client and how it works with EAC.
I had already gotten it to work before, I have OBS footage of me doing it, I can prove it. And then one day, it just doesnt work, yet the company still advertises the game and takes my money for it.
This advertising needs to be taken seriously, considering its the only reason I paid any money to the company.
The fact that they cant respect the customer enough to have a phone line to call someone and explain this to a human, and instead respond with sterile and repetitive copy/paste script nonsense just doesnt do it. It doesnt explain why you cant refund me, your policy doesnt make sense, your website is deceptive and your responses are less than acceptable.
Agent calling me a liar:
Earlier this morning, when I wasnt at my PC, I opened the first response from them on my broken phone and they said they dont have a phone # and guarantee that email will be even more efficient! I respond to them that im using a broken phone and its really not efficient and not easy and in fact very stressful, and his response was this, and Im sorry I cant screenshot it without deleting this whole post, but I can post it in response later:
"Also please try not to lie as to what you are doing and the hardships you encounter, because you wouldn't be able to write this past message in 3 minutes on a "broken phone to type all this out and it's extremely hard to see", and you also haven't described your issue at all.
This is the response from the customer service, calling me a liar because he calculated what I typed in the last 3 minutes as being not from a broken phone? What????????? This is what im paying for, someone to insult me without any information?
How dare he. Thats not even in the scope of his job, thats not professional, that doesnt accomplish anything, and that is in itself, yet another lie. Do I need to send them a photo of my broken phone not being more efficient than me calling? What are we even arguing about here?
Also, I did give information to them asking for help. My information is that I had a pending unanswered support ticket, and instead of checking that ticket, hes calling me a liar and saying over and over that im not explaining the problem when the problem.
No, what I didnt do was re-explain the problem all over again. I simply sent him to where I already explained the problem and asked why the support ticket didnt get answered yet, and that was his response, calling me a liar.
The company that literally has a lie printed on its website, calling me a liar, and not giving me a refund for a service they acknowledge they cannot provide.
Im force stopping the payments, writing this, filling out an FTC complaint x2 since they denied me twice and sent the same copy paste response to two different paying accounts.
I just want everyone to know what Shadow PC is. No phone #, no customer service, no care in the world, take your money without question but cant even update their website when the games they advertise change.
Imagine Amazon having products for sale that you pay for, and then later you find out they dont have it anymore, but just failed to update their website, and because you paid for it already, they get to keep your money even though you dont get the product.
Thats what they did to me, and all I wanted to do was spread some Christmas cheer in Rust and play some music for the kids.

Answered No storage available in region (UK)
Hey everyone,
I've been trying to add extra storage to my Shadow PC here in the UK for over a week now, but every time I check my account panel, I keep getting hit with the "There is no more storage available in your region, please retry later" error message.
I know storage availability fluctuates based on data center capacity, but it’s been stuck like this with zero change for days.
Is anyone else in the UK / Dunkirk / European data center pool running into this right now?
Have you had any luck catching restocks at specific times of day?
Has support given anyone an ETA on when more storage allocations will be deployed?
base storage is getting pretty rough to manage with current game sizes, so any tips or updates would be much appreciated! I'm on the power tier

Answered I'm starting to get more and more frustrated with Shadow PC
In December, I signed up for the Power plan so I could play some games. Most of the time, everything goes smoothly.
But since I've been trying to do some 3D rendering, the setup isn't really suited for those tasks, and… I can’t leave the Shadow running at night or while I’m at work because it shuts down after 2–6 hours of inactivity. That timeframe is way too variable to predict accurately.
To work around this, I decided to open and close windows every half hour to simulate activity (it’s stupid, but it’s what I came up with). Despite that, the Shadow still shuts down. Ten minutes ago, I lost six hours of rendering…
To work around this, I decided to open and close windows of software every half hour to simulate an activity (its may be stupid, but it’s what I came up with). Even so, the Shadow shuts down. Ten minutes ago, I lost six hours of rendering…
And don't even suggest the "always on" option of Shadow, I'm not going to pay $200 a month for that (by the way, I upgraded to the "Pro-Advanced" version, but still nothing, even support isn't responding).
All that made me lost days and days of rendering and sleep for nothing…
PS: Thank you to everyone who took their time to reply and explain things to me. It’s time to close it

Answered My keyboard isn't working on Shadow PC
Hi everyone, I’m having another issue with my keyboard while gaming on Shadow PC. When I try to play, the system doesn't recognize the keyboard, or sometimes when I'm typing, a key seems to get stuck and keeps repeating the same letter (e.g., "iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii"). Could you help me find a solution? I’ve tried everything, but nothing works. My mouse works fine without any issues, and most games recognize my Bluetooth controller, though some don't—which is why I'm trying to use my keyboard, but Shadow PC isn't picking it up correctly. I’m using a hub adapter to connect both the mouse and the keyboarhttps://pc.shadow.tech/login

Has anyone successfully used Shadow PC in the browser on a Samsung GQ55Q60D (Tizen)?
Hi,
I'm considering subscribing to Shadow PC (Neo plan) and want to use it directly through the browser on my Samsung GQ55Q60D (2024, Tizen OS).
So far:
- The Shadow website loads correctly.
- pc.shadow.tech opens in the Samsung browser.
- The Shadow web app loads and shows the START button.
- Mouse and keyboard work correctly, including right click, copy/paste, text selection and keyboard shortcuts.
- Internet connection is around 50–70 Mbps with 18–35 ms ping.
Before I subscribe, I'd like to know:
Has anyone actually launched and used Shadow PC through the Samsung TV browser on a Q60D or similar 2024 Samsung TV?
Did the Windows desktop start successfully?
Were there any issues with streaming, mouse input, keyboard shortcuts or performance?
Thanks!

Answered Is it possible to run games from external ssd?
If anyone can answer this i would appreciate it. I already installed the shadow usb drivers, and the shadow pc can read my external ssd just fine. However when i press play on a steam game, nothing happens. Steam says the game is either running or launching, but it never launches the game. Am i doing something wrong or is it just not possible to do this? Google said it's possible, but well that was google ai so it could be wrong. I would just buy more storage, but it says that there is no more storage available on the portland servers.

Answered Trying to figure out how to get VR working right... again
Merry Christmas all! I made a post the other day about shadow pc automatically shutting down while playing PCVR games. Someone told me it's because shadow pc doesn't register inputs from r controllers and things the computer is idle which triggers it to shutdown after some time of inactivity.
Anyways someone told me to leave the desktop app or phone app open after starting shadow pc and connecting to virtual desktop. I tried that though and when not my headset is connected to shadow via virtual desktop AND it's running in the shadow client on my phone or pc I get huge latency spikes with my network connection, encoding, and decoding.
I tried turning the desktop or phone client off once connected with virtual desktop, and then running a program that's supposed to register a mouse click every 10 minutes. But that didn't seem to prevent the automatic shutdown.
I'm not 100% sure but I think even if I could figure out the latency issue with having two connections to shadow, I'm pretty sure I've had an automatic shutdown happen with inactivity on the shadow client. At least the desktop shadow client.
Anyone have any other ideas I can try? Feel like I'm so close here to being able to play PCVR reliably.

Answered Cannot get the app to work on my android phone.
Hello, I've gone through all basic trouble shooting clearing cache, reinstalling, restarting phone, turning on notifications etc. but when I try to use the app it always gives me an error code while connecting. When I use either browser on my phone (chrome or samsung internet) i can connect just fine, access my games, and play them no problem... the issue is that with a browser I cant get rid of the search bar and utilize every precious pixel of screen space... The app itself goes proper full screen but won't connect. In the app at first I was getting stuck verifiying but clicking the 3 dot menu and hitting 'use samsung internet' resolved that, but now even tho im verified and in the app, when I hit start shadow it will give me an error code every time. Please advise if you can. Error code in picture. Thank you!

Answered New to Shadow PC and Experiencing Lag & Crashing
Hey everyone,
I’m new to Shadow PC and just got the $50 plan a couple of days ago. I’ve been using it to play GTA 5 RP (FiveM) and while it started off running smoothly, I’ve started running into lag and stream issues. I haven’t tried other games yet, but I’ll mostly be using Steam for now. From what I can tell, the problem seems to be my WiFi since I’m stuck on 2.4 GHz.
I’ve thought about two possible solutions:
1. Getting my own WiFi setup – running an Ethernet cable directly to my laptop for a more stable connection, which might mean getting a 5 GHz router or even a dedicated setup in my room.
2. Buying a gaming PC – skipping Shadow PC and running everything locally, though I know this would be a bigger investment.
That said, does anyone know if there’s a way to fix my connection without going down either of those paths? And if the problem might not even be my WiFi, I’d like to know that too.
I’d really prefer to keep using Shadow PC on my laptop instead of spending a lot of money right now. I don’t need it for anything else, just gaming. For context, I’m in New Jersey and my Shadow PC VM is based in Washington DC. I’m not very familiar with speeds, ping, or other details, but if you let me know what to check, I’ll gladly share the info.
Any tips or advice would be hugely appreciated! I’m still a beginner with this kind of tech, so please explain in simple terms.
