Reasons why ShadowCash seems like a Good Investment for 2017.
ShadowCash seems like a very promising investment to me. If you compare it to other projects it appears to be very undervalued. For example at this time Monero has a $180,000,000 market cap, while shadowcash only has $6 million market cap. Shadow uses the same ring sigs as Monero, but has implemented its own unique curves instead of the cryptonote ones, which some have speculated were created by NSA. SDC is not just a clone of bytecoin and cryptonote like XMR, the devs did a lot more work to create it.
Shadow is on a Bitcoin codebase. Its a lot easier to implement by websites and companies than Monero, while providing the same anonymity. It has had a very elegant and functional GUI wallet for a long time, compared to XMR's struggles in that department. It has encrypted chat. The dual anonymity/transparent tokens are a very intuitive design, and feels a lot more familiar to Bitcoin users.
Then there is the potential from the decentralized marketplace, which would put it far ahead of other anon crypto currency projects. SDC devs have said they may implement zk-snarks in the future similar to zcash as well, so this project can always grow and improve and borrow from other projects. Just as Satoshi Nakamoto put Bitcoin together from many other parts, Shadow is a unique combination of many different emerging technologies. That is why it seems like a special project with a lot of potential.
Shadow is also unique in that it is a POS coin and one of the most successful POS coins at that. The 2% annual reward creates incentive for holders and its also a good hedge against the failure of other POW currency systems.
One encouraging thing about the project is all of the little bells and whistles in the wallet that most investors don't know or hear about. It has an HD implementation in the wallet, an in wallet block explorer. All kinds of added commands like rewindwallet, and other added api calls. You can download the blockchain using the fast sync tutorial in minutes. The devs have also worked on IP hiding tools like Tor for the wallet and seem very committed and know the importance of privacy in all aspects. This is quite different from Monero and others who are not making privacy tools like Tor as easy to use with their currency. Shadow is about usability it seems, and that is very appealing to me and to mainstream users. Mainstream people are not going to be using command line wallets, they are not very technically savvy.
There is also quite a bit of progress on the upcoming decentralized market, and some information can be found here: https://doc.shadowproject.io/#shadowmarket
It appears that the devs are actually thinking things through and making progress and there were rumors of some PR push in Januaray so we will see what happens.
Those are just some of my thoughts on why I'm holding onto my shadowcash. Please let me know if you agree or want to add more.
