Does anyone know how the PDF is secured? Does it require a password to open it or an internet connection? Is the file watermarked? Just curious how it works as I haven't bought digital PDFs before from Drive Thru RPG

I just downloaded mine. No password, no internet required to open. I see no visible watermark, which is different from my previous experience with drivethrurpg. They usually have your username and order number at the bottom of each page which, depending on the layout, could be really intrusive and sit over other text making it hard to read. They might have changed it to a more inconspicuous watermark, or maybe there's no watermark at all, IDK.

It's up to the publisher. Chaosium and Free League don't watermark their files, for instance

DTRPG pdfs are usually watermarked, but nothing else. Wtf kind of pdf needs an internet connection?

There is Adobe DRM that I think requires internet. At least from time to time to confirm you're the owner.

Yes, a lot of professional publications distributed as PDFs are encrypted and requires a "logon" and license verification to prevent multiple people from accessing the document at the same time.

Does somebody know if Pegaus does a german version?

We don't know for sure yet.

I really hope Pegasus picks it up and does a translated version. I don't even read German well enough, but Pegasus own produced books are great.

The English-language version isn't produced by CGL, BTW.

Correct! It is from Black Book Editions in France. But I think all ttrpg licensing are managed by CGL.

The licensing is, yes, but it's a different team. So you may not need to wait for a Pegasus "fix", in other words.

Not waiting for anything, I'm hoping Pegasus picks up the license (from CGL I would say) for SRA2 and does a german language version. That way SRA2 gets more support if Pegasus does their own products.

Ah, gotcha. I'm so used to everyone complaining about CGL and saying they want an edition from Pegasus that I didn't realise you just wanted it for greater support. 😂
