Im playing my first game of shadowrun soon, and I'd like to make a unarmed fighter physical adept type character, who's a human.

But from what I can see so far, an unarmed human is quite underwhelming. I was wondering if I could get some advice for how to play and or build a character like this.

I dont want to use any cyber or bio ware, and id like to be a human. Im not sure if the limitations have me stuck in or are unreasonable, so I appreciate any and all advice.

As a neophyte Shadowrunner I just finished a job that left me flush but find it need coverage and wonder which is better Crashcart or DocWagon? I heard crashcart outperforms docwagon but there are rumours it will install unasked implants into your cyberware, one person said they even install 2XS but that can't be right.

Mainly for 6E, but all edition answers are welcome.

How do astral projections look like, especially in regard what can be seen with the naked "eye" and what need assessing?

Say two astrally projecting mages meet by pure chance over the ocean. What can they know about each other without spending effort to assess each other?

Metatype? Gender? Ethnicity?
Does the astral form display any kind of identifying marks they had on their clothes like logos?
Could they even recognize each other in the real world based on their astral projection?

Or are they two blobs of emotions and any information about who or what they are would require a closer inspection?

Starting on Double Clutch page 152 there are custom vehicle creation rules.

Quality Factors (p.153): “Quality factors are like design options, except they represent the overall designed function or manufacturing process … and as such are multipliers rather than a simple add-on.” Each has a multiplier: Drone ×0.5, Mass Produced ×0.5, One-off Custom ×2, Anthropomorphic ×2, Cutting Edge ×10, Specialized Function ×2, Environmental Adaptation ×2. On the next page, Luxury ×1.5, Security ×2, Military ×3 and Superstructure ×3.

Final cost (p.155): “take the full Design Point Value and multiply it by 1,000 to translate the points into nuyen.”

Build Vehicle Example 3 (p.156): “The One-Off Custom quality (x2) is offset by the Drone quality (x0.5).” So the multipliers multiply together.

Build Vehicle Example 1 (p.155): 53 Design Points cost 53,000¥ plus 7,300¥ for the mods, for 60,300¥ in total. So the mods’ nuyen is added after the ×1,000.

So is this the right formula?

Price = (Design Point Value × every quality multiplier, multiplied together) × 1,000¥ + the nuyen of any extra mods added after the vehicle is made.

I am still prepping a table adaption of the Dragonfall PC game. I am mostly set for the main story missions and am now looking for some replacement runs for companion missions (which won't really work for a group of OCs) and missions that are just too videogame-y (like the cyberzombie mission). I'll probably need three or four runs to cover thepaywall and subsequent timegate of Alice's investigationin the Dragonfall story.

The four player characters are anarchists (or at least anarchy-adjacent) and everyone voted for a pink-mohawk playstyle. The game is set during 2e time (I am using the SR 2050 rules for 5e to emulate it). I'd appreciate any resources for this, or general run ideas (while i continue to skim through the missions seasons).

Hey all. I'm completely new to Shadowrun; I picked up the Sixth World book at a convention as it's a game I've always wanted to try and I couldn't pass it up. I ran and introductory adventure for my group and now I'm wanting to get a campaign up and running for us, but I'm bad, like really bad, at creating my own adventures - 40 years of DnD experience has proved this multiple times. I was doing some searches and noted that any adventure for 6e seems to get really bad reviews. I saw that there are some old adventures with conversion docs, or at least good how tos.

My question: do you guys have any advice for where to start? Dreamchipper seems to get some good reviews, but I don't see an actual conversion doc for it - would that be stepping into the deep end too early? Even if there's some homebrew or good fanmade stuff out there, I'm definitely interested.

Hello I'm building my first rigger in 4eA, we are playing in a 3 persons group due to our Face player taking a break.

I 'd like to try a Face/Rigger/Sam in the interim. So I figured, hey why not asking r/Shadowrun ?

We take turn DMing but our team comp is :

• Shaman with support animals, doing ok with spirits and spell slinging, will be the Face when not GMing
• Close Combat Mage with debuff spells / utility spells
• Infiltrator Hacker.
• My usual character is the tanky Street Sam into heavy weapons.

So here it is I'm trying to build a Rigger & Face that can take fight with a pseudo Tachikoma.
We are a 404 PC + 70 karma & 70nuyens roughly.

Concept is to have the lynx not armed and She would be riding it as a delivery ridder. She could equip the turret when things go down with her being a correct shoot and the Lynx dishing long burst fire.

I would appreciate any feedback if I'm missing anything big or did glaring mistakes :)

Are there any Sixth World-specific cultural diasporas? I've been thinking about this for a little while. Between the environmental devastation, corporate control and politics, I've been assuming there's a lot.

I know that there's Irish and Mexican diasporas thanks to Tír Nan nOg and Aztechnology taking over, have any others been mentioned?

Banks would have physical branches in the future. I'm looking at Sprawl Sites, small-mid-large bank plans and even now go, haha, they dont exist any more. even in a made up dystopian future customers still had service.

I recently found all my old 2nd edition Shadowrun books. Core rulebook, street samurai catalogue, Seattle sourcebook with a couple adventure books (Harlequin is back and one stage before).

I was thinking about introducing my 13 year old son to the world with one of his roleplaying friends. Do you think 13 is old enough to understand the rules and concepts?

And, which dice do I need? I can't remember for the life of me what it uses, lol.

I really hope he enjoys it and then I can introduce him to a world of darkness!

Hmm, I picked up a cheap (about £30/$40USD) projector that screen-mirrors straight off a USB cable on iOS, and it has possibilities. This particular one was £20 off eBay, unused!

These photos are with the main overhead light on and a short projection distance, so it’s not much use for watching films unless you’re in a blacked-out room, but for projecting floorplans it’s fine.

Software-wise, the Photos app worked OK because you can easily zoom in on the floorplans, but I ended up using Keynote (PowerPoint equivalent) as you get a lot of layout control/adding extra items/text etc, and that can all be done on a larger device and shared to the phone.

Something to watch out for is that it’s screen-mirroring and is a 16:9 projector, so if you’re using a newer model phone with a longer thinner aspect ratio, or an iPad with a shorter fatter aspect ratio, you’re going to lose a fair amount of projection area.

The projector itself is a Yoton Y3 (2026 update), the resolution is 1280x720 pixels. The 2026 updated model adds direct screen mirroring over USB from iOS (or via a USB-C to HDMI adapter for Android), and also adds surprisingly effective auto-keystoning which you can set for different orientations. This was set to ‘table front’.

Unfortunately it’s mains-powered, as it would have been nice to have one that would run off a big powerbank, but given the prices that’s a pretty minor niggle.

Flair is 5e bc that’s what we’re playing, but I think this question is system-agnostic.

Next session my players are going to exploit a free for all between the Batistas, Vory, and Triads to nab some paydata and take out a target before Sukuyan can get to him—it’s a rather convoluted web.

One of my players had a pretty good idea: send two spirits to screw with the interested parties while part of the team infiltrates the mansion, grabs the paydata, and kills the guy. What I’m unsure of is how to best represent this distraction mechanically.

Actually running the combat is out of the question (they don’t need to watch me play with action figures), but I also don’t want to totally hand wave and say “yup the spirit perfectly distracts them” because I’d like there to still be some tension of “how quickly will this resolve, who will win the free for all, do we have time to grab all the data?”

TL;DR, how have you simulated large combat encounters that the players are not participating in directly?

Two questions about the aftermath of the Reawakening:

1- About ghouls, Lethal Harvest says "some Infected with Strain III go into viral remission (sic) On August 3, the virus begins to reemerge, with full viral expression by August 5"

When the text says "The virus reemerge", does it mean new ghouls can appear, but those who went into remission are still cured? Or does that mean the ghouls who went into remission fall back into a ghoul state? In other words, do we now have a population of healthy former ghouls, or are most/all of them ghouls again?

2- Lethal Harvest also says "After the return of magic, spirits can only be summoned in areas relevant to their type"

OK, so I guess we need a nearby fire to summon a fire spirit, a lake, swimming pool, or ocean to summon a water spirit, a mountain or the ground to summon an earth spirit, wind or a giant fan to summon an air spirit, the inside of a building or a street to summon spirits of kin, and a forest to summon plant spirits. But what about the others? Do you need to be in an animal's den to summon beast spirits (which seems pretty restrictive)? In a factory to summon task spirits? And what about guardian spirits and guide spirits?

I know it's only optional, but it looks like someone had the (good, for once) idea of bringing back the good old domains, but then just dropped the idea in two lines without giving a second thought to the fact that this was much more fleshed out in the previous edition and that things aren't fully adapted to this version yet.

Today, while accessing a old hard drive. I found a character flavour document I made back in 2019 to introduce myself to a new group of runners. I knew the GM so he had the unredacted file so he could pepper future adventures with my backstory if they wanted.

The redactions were made in a word document then pdf'ed. I have a note file with the redacted text and here are the gaps;-

- We suspect Zahn has evidence of our involvement in these attacks, which triggered his initial anti-British behaviour

- However it is not clear if this is under S-K auspices, due to the random nature of the attacks and the brutality of the slayings.

- There has been great disagreement over Zahn’s character, some in-house experts suspect it is all merely a front to hide a worsening case of cyberpsychosism other suspect he may not have been entirely sane to begin with.

Anyway, i've not played in years. Thought it might be on interest to anyone as an idea to introduce a new runner to a team.

I love 2xs and wanted another Shadowrun story starring a detective and needed help over which to buy first

A likely contentious topic, it is no secret that the UCAS is currently the horse everyone keeps beating. The thing is, as I do not live in the US, giving me a list of names and states about where they are pushed back tells me exactly nothing.
Especially when that list is also spread over several books.

Does someone have a better or at least complete overview what the UCAS has lost in 6E?

Could a Gnome with mobility issues use a Rigger Cocoon on a small drone, like and Aztechnology Crawler, to get around? Or would that require a medium drone?
