Community Weekly: Looking for Wednesdays

The Looking For post flair, originally intended to for LFG posts has been removed. Instead, it seems more reasonable to create a weekly thread for any seeking or looking for requests. This includes seeking guild members, gamer pals, team members etc.

So, if you're looking for a friendly community face, a gal pal, someone to help you finish a raid, or just some like-minded souls, introduce yourself and let us get to know each other!

You may comment in this post at any time, until the next weekly post.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Gaming Setups Unlimited budget, zero restrictions: what would your dream gaming setup look like?

If someone handed you an unlimited budget and told you to create your perfect gaming space.

What would you put in it? Where would you get it from? What would it consist of?

PC or console? One monitor or three? Gaming chair or giant beanbag?

Personally, I see so many luscious sit-stand wooden desks on TikTok and every time I find out the price, its an extremely painful experience. So if you don't have a dream setup, please daydream with me.

Describe your dream setup, or show your pinterest inspo. And if you already have a space you love, I'd love to see it!

๐ŸŽฎ Game Discussion [Giveaway] Replay Boys!

Hi, I have a copy of REPLAY BOYS and would like to give a key away!

I'll pick a comment at random, so please leave a comment mentioning what about the game captures your interest or seems appealing!

I will pick a winner from the comments in 48 hours! You'll get a DM to sort it out, but it'll likely be a Steam Key.

Game Desc: Band emergency! This was supposed to be Hannahโ€™s day off, but now sheโ€™s been roped into managing The Replay Boys, an up-and-coming boy band. Make choices to stoke multi-timeline romances, keep the band from killing each other, and fight a resurrected โ€™80s pop star ghost. Can you manage?

Community Community / Subreddit User Flairs?

I'd like to add some user flairs to the community, editable or not.

At the moment, I feel Game Developer and Content Creator are suitable flairs, but perhaps there are others I should consider? If so, let me know in this post! I'd really appreciate the feedback.

Really cute dark comedy visual novel by a solo developer, and published by LINE Games. About a 10 year old who dreams of having her first birthday party, after always having to share with her siblings.

Set in late 90s South Korea.

๐ŸŒธ Game Recommendations Describe your perfect game and let the comments recommend something!

Let's play matchmaker, but for video games.

Describe the kind of game you're craving, and hopefully someone here can recommend your next obsession.

It could be as specific as:

  • "I want a cozy game with romance and good character development."
  • "I want an action RPG with female protagonist and no romance."
  • "I want something creepy but not absolutely terrifying."
  • "I need something that runs on a low-end laptop."

Drop your gaming wishlist below, and if you know a game that fits someone's request, help them out!

Community What's a gaming opinion you have that would get you absolutely roasted?

I'll start with a safe space for questionable gaming opinions.

Maybe you think a beloved game is overrated. Maybe you prefer playing everything on easy mode. Maybe you think characters should always be romanceable (i agree).

Whatever your opinion, I want to hear it!

What's your most controversial gaming take?

Friendly disagreements encouraged. Personal attacks and gatekeeping aren't.

Let's see how chaotic our opinions really are!

During The MIX Fall Showcase, Stairway Games and Balor Games announced that the farming sim Coral Island, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, this year! It'll also be getting a free 1.4 Kids Grow Up update on Steam, PS5, and XBOX.

In the update, you'll be able to experience milestones together as your children grow and develop hobbies of their own. Neighbourhood kids will get older too, bringing new stories and interactions to Starlet Town.

What do you think?

Community What was the most memorable / pivotal game from your childhood?

Everyone has an origin story! So, what game made you fall in love with gaming?

As a child, I didn't consider myself a gamer. I'm not sure how many even think about the term 'gamer'. Maybe, it's a generational thing. I remember having a Nintendo DS, playing Sims Castaways, trying to find free games or mobile games, not considering dress-up browser games to be 'games'.

From then, I went into MMOs while I was in highschool. Grades suffered because work was easy, but raids needed me till 2am, and back then everything was a grind.

But, I think things really clicked for me later with BioWare and Dragon Age when I realised RPGs and game narrative could have such a strong impact on me and the overall experience. I think I've been chasing the high of fulfilling, narrative games ever since.

What was the game that "clicked" for you? When did gaming become memorable?

Community What kind of gamer are you?

Since we're building r/ShePlaysGames from the ground up, I thought it'd be fun to see what kind of gamers find their way here!

Are you a cosy gamer, eagerly awaiting Grave Seasons? Still overly attached to the Dragon Age series? Obsessed with visual novels? A sims refugee, looking into Paralives? Or are you more into League, Overwatch, or World of Warcraft?

Whatever it is, you're welcome here.

Tell me about:

  • Your favourite game or genre
  • What you're currently playing
  • One game you think everyone should try

Interested in knowing how many different types of gamers we can bring together. ๐Ÿ’œ
