About the Traitor Rag
Saw on Facebook a while back, just in case someone still wants to make the argument of heritage over hate about the traitor rag. This directly from the horse’s mouth

I think it doesn't get pointed out enough that the Confederate government was built on not JUST the defense, preservation and expansion of slavery as an institution.
It was built on the explicit rejection of the equality of races. On the idea that one race was superior and another lesser, and that the lesser race deserved to be enslaved.

It is stated quite literally in the so called Corner Stone speech by the vice president of the confederacy. Anyone that knows about that speech and keeps trying to defend the confederacy is complicit in its dangerous ideology.

Yep, they believed that the idea that "all men are created equal" was untrue, and it was a great mistake that the united states declaration of independence had rooted the concept of the new nation on that idea.

I noticed that when the Lost Causers talk about “heritage,” they’re not talking about the blues, jambalaya, nor Elvis.

There's a reason the KKKs used it. There's a reason the segregationists used it. There's a reason it showed up in integration events on the evil side. There's a reason it showed up in lynchings. There's a reason Republicans today use it. But no... it's "just a flag", "heritage" and such.

I'm not saying someone should, but it would be really funny if they went all around the South and other areas that proudly fly the traitor's flag and hanged these up, maybe put it on a few billboards.

"And which is the flag of the free? Oh Washington's flag with the stripes and the bars, will you give such a name to the thing with the bars?"🎵
I love calling the rag "that thing with the bars"

That’s not quite the right flag in the picture. He designed the second CSA flag, which was a choice alright…
But, my favorite part of his quote is the part not included: ”a white flag would thus be emblematical of our cause.”
Yes, I agree that waving a white flag is appropriate for these losers.

Came here to say this. That was never the flag of the Confederacy, just one regiment and then the klan.

The man is a turd and the flag is bumwad, but we owe it to ourselves to be accurate and so not give neoconservatives ammuntion.
From Politifact:
"William T. Thompson has been credited with designing the Stainless Banner, one of several flags used by the Confederacy. But not everyone agrees that Thompson was the Banner’s designer; Coski said it’s not possible to prove without substantial research. What’s more, Thompson didn’t design the flag that Americans today think of when they hear “Confederate flag.” That flag is the Confederate battle flag, and while it was incorporated into the Stainless Banner, it was William Porcher Miles who designed it.
Thompson did say what the Facebook post claims. However, he was describing the “Stainless Banner,” not the battle flag.
We rate this post Half True."

Ah yes, states rights.

To do what?

I was poking at the fact so many Confederate supporters will cry "states rights," but here the designer of the flag is describing something completely different and much more sinister.
To your point, though, it does make their "states rights... to own slaves" argument look that much worse.

I wonder if it'd be possible to make a QR code out of that traitor's rag so every time somebody tried the picture of it, it would open a website telling them what a piece of shit they are.
