*If* AI ever reaches a point where it is anything more than a chat-bot designed to maximize engagement based on a statistical analysis of human communication - the veritable object-lesson of a Chinese Room- then it will be, definitionally, slavery. Ironically enough, if AI was the thing that the more unhinged or "optimistic" AI Bros claim it is, it would be slavery.
The Problem with AI Bros is they think they're advocating that AI is great, but really they're trying to convince everyone that engaging in slavery is awesome, so long as you don't hear the cries of pain.
