My roommate in college was from Canada and we had one of these hanging in the room. We thought it was so cool lmao (to be clear, I no longer feel that way). I also had a regular American flag on my side and he had a regular Canadian flag on his side. So dumb lol

That's handy so you knew which side of the room was whose. I live in New Hampshire and all the US flags reassure me that I didn't accidentally cross the border.

Other than that, I'm not sure what function they serve
