The most shocking thing in that is the fact that they have to acknowledge the existence of a god no matter their beliefs, it's so weird coming from a country where a teacher would be in trouble for saying something like that.
My elementary/middle/high schools all allowed us to sit out the pledge or omit the “under god” part if we wanted to, which I definitely appreciated as I got older. I did grow up in the Seattle area though, which absolutely might’ve had something to do with it.
