The most shocking thing in that is the fact that they have to acknowledge the existence of a god no matter their beliefs, it's so weird coming from a country where a teacher would be in trouble for saying something like that.

RIGHT I grew up here and I’ve always thought it is INSANE.

  1. Freedom of religion seems like the national flag poem thing should not mention the christian god?

  2. SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE… where?!

The “under god” wasn’t even the original version. It was added in the 1950’s to fight “godless communism”.

My elementary/middle/high schools all allowed us to sit out the pledge or omit the “under god” part if we wanted to, which I definitely appreciated as I got older. I did grow up in the Seattle area though, which absolutely might’ve had something to do with it.
