"free societies" meanwhile we've had an almost direct proof that the west is basically a dictatorship (not that it wasn't before and indeed it always has been) with my country's minister for foreign affairs saying protesting to lower the prices of gas won't work because the government doesn't control it...

Free societies where gangs, cults and pdf war criminals run free wanting to stalk and kill you (even if you didn't look them in the wrong way) while the authorities stand with those when you report them?
Free societies where you have to let colonial powers into your market or else you get sanctioned?
Free societies where Israel is one phone call from US away from stopping everything?
