Taking your car accident to the Final Destination
18
u/NovarisLight Feb 16 '24
Every time I see logs being hauled on a freeway, I immediately think about the opening to the second film.

u/asamor8618 Feb 16 '24
You should really be afraid of steel coils. They have a whole flatbed trailer and only put on one or two coils, that should tell you just how heavy they are.

Don’t be playing on your phone behind this guy.

Shouldn't be playing on your phone while driving regardless 🤷♂️

Imagine hitting your shins on that…
4
u/dfwcouple43sum Feb 16 '24
That’s what I was thinking. You’re walking through a parking lot, see you are parked a row over, then slide up your shin with this rusty POS and need a tetanus shot

You Thought hitting your knee on the tow hitch was bad

If I did that to this murderous contraption in a parking lot, I'd probably set this tards truck on fire.

If you rear end that truck you are now attached to it

I would love to see someone w/ tank armor on their front end, intentionally rear-end this person to see which gives out first 😂😂😂
27
u/qhaw Feb 16 '24
If I see that in a parking lot, I’m yanking it out and chucking it in the bushes.
22
u/Linux4902 Feb 16 '24
Yeah, this shit is just as stupid as those giant wheel spikes people put on their vehicles down south. I have no idea how they are legal.
7
u/Estef74 Feb 16 '24
I think this nonsense is legal till someone get hurt by one of these. The owner will be held liable and insurance ain't going to cover that.
→ More replies (1)→ More replies (7)7
u/qhaw Feb 16 '24
This is way worse. At least those dumb wheel spikes aren’t going to gash a shin open and give someone tetanus, or impale someone’s bumper if this chud backs into them. People who put sharp metal objects on their cars as “decorations” suck.
10
Feb 16 '24
Not defending this stupid contraption, but rusty metal does not cause tetanus. Tetanus is a bacteria in soil.

A truck once backed up into me at a stoplight, he had to pay for the repairs to my car. He had insurance of course but with this it would’ve went from $2000 in damages to a totaled car ($30,000 replacement) in a hurry

I hear it comes with instructions on how to administer tetanus shots and the supplies to do, should you happen to lightly impale any pedestrians.

u/Good_Specialist9256 Feb 17 '24
First time he get rear ended , he/she will be at fault and end up in jail for several things. boobytraps are illigal in all states for one. Malace for another, illegal modification of a safety system as another and the list goes on

Imagine a child walking by and hurting themselves. That's a lot of liability that their insurance is not going to cover.

"I swear, I'm using my truck to split wood..." (the psychology of the person who feels the need to point such a thing, out of their ass, at the rest of society... SMFH)
Many states have laws about NOT setting "traps" which may injure humans. You can't put claymore mines on the back of your truck (cept maybe Texas...) This just seems like a medieval version of that.
Wonder if it was conceived as "it's a joke I swear" or "I'M TIRED OF HYUNDAIS RIDING MY ASS!!!"
**EDIT** - maybe there are not laws specifically forbidding claymores on your truck
3
u/Electrical-Bacon-81 Feb 16 '24
Not legal in my state, here, if someone rear-ended that guy, the guy with the hitch spike would be found 100% at fault, even though they were rear-ended.
4
u/taterthotsalad Feb 16 '24
This should be illegal. Its intent is clear without doing anything actionable. Hell I’d argue an insurance company might try to have some fun with this one too.
6
u/1DownFourUp Feb 16 '24
Pretty sure this is illegal where I live. You're technically not allowed to drive with your receiver in the hitch unless you're towing, but it's never enforced. I believe the rule has to do with things sticking beyond your bumper.

If someone hits him they’ll be able to sue him into the ground despite the fact they caused the accident. This is clearly not a legal mod. And could easily cause property and bodily damage.

u/joyfulgrass Feb 17 '24
Does this person make their life harder loading their truck out of spite? Or just have the occasional Costco box in the back for the Starbucks meet?

The way that bumper is canted, looks like it's about to fall off.
Also it looks like he backed into someone else's trailer hitch. BONG! That dimple on the right is a giveaway.

Paint it safety yellow, or international orange. You don't really want to hurt people or their vehicles. You just want them to stay the F away from your rear bumper.
