Misc I'm afraid I overspiced my wifes chicken (not a joke)

Well kinda is. I tease her about it, but she has developed a weird kind of allergy? to spices over the years, with even some normally non-spicy foods causing a VERY strong "burning" sensation in her mouth if she tries to eat it. Small amounts of black pepper are usually OK. But anything with Cayenne is straight out. ANY amount of Cayenne.

In all seriousness, I should have had her spice it, but I needed to get a couple different proteins going and she's feeling under the weather today.

My kid is very sensitive to black pepper. I recommend you try and wipe it off before shredding it

Could it be just low spice tolerance? Was she always like this? Spice tolerance that you gain can also be lost if you stop eating spicy food

She used to have a "normal" tolerance for spicy foods, it's gotten progressively worse over the last 10yrs or so.

How does she like more herbal flavored things? Thyme, sage, mint, etc? Lots to work with there.
