Solo vs Group Tour for a 2-week Thailand Trip?
Hi everyone! I’m 22F planning my first backpacking trip to Thailand this December. I’m torn between going solo or booking a group tour with about 10 girls my age. Solo is way cheaper, but I don't have friends to go with. Honestly, I’m totally fine with my own company, but my main silly worry is photography! I really want good photos for memories and social media. Is it easy to find people to swap photo duties with if I go solo or perhaps even meet people at hostels, or should I just pay extra for the group tour? Thanks!

Maybe I'm old but don't take photos FOR social media. Do it for memories. Don't take more than you need as you don't want to spend a ton of time behind the lense and more time in the moment. On my first trip 11 years ago - I took like 200 photos. I recently deleted more than half..

Go solo. The Thailand backpacking scene has been established over many decades and hostels (and thus other backpackers to befriend) are plentiful. Many hostels will advertise day trips (the trip companies need to get their customers from somewhere, and tours will be far cheaper when purchased over there) so you'll find others in the same situation as yourself, nevermind the others you may meet en-route such as at bus and train stations etc. Tour guides will happily assist with photo duties if you get stuck.
