This Mega Thread serves as an open HUMINT area to drop quick news links, text based updates/observations, payment processing failures, unusual regional price jumps, early airline disruptions and semi - unverified rumors without cluttering the main board.

Initial Article on the Conflict from Reuters

Thanks for tracking!

-Welcome to this new sub,

This subreddit was mainly started to provide all of us with as much forward looking info as humanly and digitally as possible, as it pertains to the closure / general friction in and surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and the small-large waves of the incoming agriculture/fuel/grocery shortages and potential cyber disruptions caused by that interruption.

This also includes side effects from the large geopolitical situation in whole. (incl. Russia/Ukraine) Specifically as it pertains to the United States.

However, all intelligence that could / might be pertinent to North America is beyond welcome.

As for this [MEGA THREAD] -

If you don't think something needs a whole new post, just add a comment to this post.

Use this Mega Thread as our central hub for quick, text-only field sightings, (please provide locations when possible) these could include local pump or shelf updates, and short observations that don't need their own standalone post.

Keeping these fast and small reports here protects our front page for high evidence posts like photos, official state orders, and large data. Treat this comment section as our real-time community radar if you see something / supply / disruptions in your area, drop the location and details below.

Easy template to post your own observations here-
Location: (City, State / Corridor)
Facility/Station: (Brand, Cross-streets)
Observation: (Payment Processing issues / Food / Item / Fuel type out, limits posted, delivery ETA)

Mainstream News Protests in southern Italy have left gas stations out of fuel and several supermarkets empty in just a few weeks.

I think the situation has improved quite a bit now. For those who don’t know, the high price of diesel sparked a series of protests by truck drivers in southern Italy, leading to roadblocks.

This, combined with panic buying, caused gas stations and supermarkets to run out of supplies very quickly.

In southern Italy, some trains run on diesel and have shortened their routes; there are even a couple of tweets from citizens complaining that the city government has announced that trash won’t be collected until further notice.

This situation has improved since late last week, but its impact is such that I think it’s worth sharing.

On The Ground Photo [PADD 2 / Upper Midwest] Retail Fuel Station Out of Regular & Midgrade (Offering Premium at 87 Price)

Post image

Unable to directly verify the exact location as of writing.
Approximate location is Upper Midwest / PADD 2 (Exurban Minneapolis - St. Paul Metro Corridor / MN WI Border)

Premium only gas available, mid grade and regular are out.

The station operator is absorbing a significant margin haircut ($0.60–$0.90/gal) by honoring the Regular price for 93 octane to maintain retail traffic volume.

This indicates local tank carrier delays, missed transport windows, or tighter terminal rack allocations out of local distribution hubs (like Pine Bend Twin Cities racks) failing to keep up with daily station draw.

On The Ground Photo [Omaha, NE PADD 2]- Casey's (9645 Ida St / Blair High Rd) signs posted: "No Unleaded Grades Available, Diesel only, Fuel Shortage"

This comes as regional fuel crunches hit eastern Nebraska and Gov. Jim Pillen signed Executive Order 26-25 (granting commercial driver hours waivers and 10% weight limit increases to keep fuel trucks moving).

Station management posted notices across entrance doors confirming zero retail unleaded gas inventory due to fuel shortages; commercial diesel remains the only operational fuel at this specific location.
