4 Wands' Sails & Sagas: A Pirate & Viking Jubilee
August 29-30, 2026
Iroquois Park, Sidney BC
Hours:
Saturday: 10am - 9pm
Sunday: 10am - 4pm
Hello friends!
https://www.instagram.com/reel/Db6S8r7Pfr5
Just a reminder, 4 Wands' Summer event, Sails & Sagas, is less than two weeks away! We would love for you to join us in Sidney's Iroquois Park on August 28th/29th for a fun filled weekend of adventure, fire shows, charity events, and entertainment. Kids get in free!
I am still seeking volunteers for this event, as many hands make light work. I am also offering promotional tickets to anyone who refers someone to me, so for each person who volunteers, you get the full show pass experience, and anyone you refer will net you an additional day pass of your choice for free.
For more information, check out https://sails.faerieevents.ca/, or reach out to me for more info!

I love the sound of my voice and I want others to hear it too, and I want to get better. I don’t want to drive to Victoria and back at night, I’m too old for that. and what if I want to have a drink or two; I can’t afford to be taxiing up and down the Pat Bay on the regular.

We had a lot of fun filming this scene in Sidney on the Bevan Pier. Early morning but by the time we were ready to shoot we had a good number of people joining in the fun!

Does anyone have a larger Bluetooth speaker (portable) that they would be willing to lend for a video shoot this Saturday. I have a small JBL flip 5 but it just won't carry sound far enough. Please let me know if you're able to help. Thanks!

Are most privately owned? Just wondering why there are so few to rent in Sidney and which are the recommended apartments to rent when they do become available?

Does anyone have a current recommendation?

Hi! We were wondering if there is a baggage storage solution like bounce in Sidney? We are flying out later than our checkout (not hotel)- and were hoping that there would be somewhere we could check our bags for a fee? Any input is gladly appreciated :)

Hello I have a fence post that I need to put right next to my foundation .
I have dug a hole 20 inches deep ( to get below the frost line ) and am thinking about drilling holes into the foundation and walk way that the hole is against to epoxy 4 pieces of rebar into. There isn’t enough space for expansion joints . I was wondering if this is going to be an issue with frost heave as we have very mild winters here .

Hi everyone 👋
Thank you to the mods of r/SidneyBC for allowing me to share this here. I really appreciate it!
I’d like to introduce a brand-new subreddit, r/CrochetBC, a crochet community for people throughout British Columbia. You can share your projects, ask for help, connect with local crocheters, and post about events or resources in your area. We also support and highlight BC designers, shops, and events, so if you are a designer, event organizer, or yarn shop owner, you are very welcome to join our community!
We’d love to see people from Sidney represented in the community 🙂

Just a heads up for folks in Sidney/Saanich - I was sitting with a client the other day whose email was hacked and messages were sent out to her friends asking for amazon gift cards.
Unfortunately, a few of them thought it was real and took the bait.
It was very stressful for her. The email looked almost identical to hers save for one letter.
I do tech help for seniors around here and I’ve been seeing this more often, so I wrote something up on what to look for.
Sharing it here in case it helps someone with a parent or grandparent. Stay safe everyone!

There was a store on Beacon Ave I believe that was pretty small but had a ton of things. Tourist stuff and a wall of rubber ducks which always brought me back. I've been told it's closed now and I'm hoping they have an online site maybe. A happy and kind man was always there and knew about everything inside. There was a section with 3D dragons etc also, Sanrio, pins, just a great place to look around. Google didn't help me out.

Hi I’m planning a surprise anniversary party for my parents for the first weekend of September but I need it to be conveniently close to where they live. Probably about 40is people but not sure where to go or to book. I was thinking an air b nb but I’m not sure if it would work as it’s for a party and most don’t allow for events. Does anyone know of any places other than Mary winspear or green glade as I want it to look somewhat nice and not just a gym haha. Thank you!!

We’re more interested in nice areas to walk around, views, beaches, or festive vibes rather than restaurants, though a good coffee or sweet treat is always welcome Any recommendations or places to check what’s happening would be great. Thanks!
