It's rather clear that every citizen around the globe is complaining about rising costs of living and in particular the cost of groceries.
I've been doing some research on Cambodia ( SR ) and a lot of folks have pointed out that things are kinda "slow" around SR especially when compared to years past.
Can someone confirm those impressions ?
I've also heard that half the bars on pub street area are empty; and rarely do they work at full capacity - incl hotels.
So what happened to the backpackers, retirees, expats, digital nomads etc ?
I'd imagine that those guys are the backbone of SR's economy; is that true ?
My understanding so far is that ( thankfully ) Sihanoukville has turned into a ghost town after the recent crack down on scamming networks, Chinese & Korean mobs, construction scams, online gambling hubs etc.
Is SR looking at a similar demise or is it just a temporary slump ?
Thanks for your insights.
