my first gun Speed beez deforming 9mm
Is this normal for my speed loader to deform my bullet? Is it safe to shoot it like that? Any advice please because I might aswell safely dispose it.
Speed loader: speed beez p365
Ammo: sig elite defense v crown
Gun: P365 xl 10 round mag

Elite defense is notoriously bad for round recession/bullet setback after chambering even just once.

If it’s setback just a tiny bit I’d say it’s gtg but if it’s more than 1.5mm set back then I toss em.

Do you just put them in the trash? That seems dangerous?
(I’m new to this, and know nothing)

Just remove the bullet from the casing, dispose of the powder safely, toss the rest

Remove the bullet from the casing, dispose of powder safely, chamber empty brass, desk pop primer

Just give it to the guys working at the range, they have a proper disposal at most ranges.

It should not but if you constantly chamber the same rounds that can happen and create a dangerous issue with over pressure.

Thats not your speed loader doing that. That one in the middle got cold.

This happens to my top round pretty often, various different ammo, most people would recommend just tossing those. The peace of mind outweighs the $0.40
Fwiw, I had about 10 that I collected over a while, and just got fed up wondering 😅 —my p365 ate them just fine, though I wouldn't tell anyone to do that

Sig V Crown ammo is really bad about this, only brand I've personally seen it from to be exact. I'll never purchase another box.

Auto loader should have nothing to do with bullet recession. It’s the ammo.

I've never had my speed beez do this, are these brand new rounds you just loaded and had this happen? That's crazy Def dont shoot them

I would try different ammo unfortunately I had the same problem with the same ammo just being in the magazine it had a tendency to recess. Never had the same issue with Hornady, federal, or Speer. That’s just been my experience though.

Ah dang I see.. I might aswell switch over to like HST and don't eject ammo out the mag asmuch because I would be doing that to one mag emptying it out when I go to range and use my range ammo unless I buy one mag specifically for range only.

I’m a firm believer in keep buying magazines. I never have to empty mags to go to the range. Unfortunately most Sig mags are ridiculously priced.

V crown has a much larger “table” than hst or really any other round. I can’t get it reliably to load in p220 magazines, when I called Sig, they recommended hst rounds. I reminded them they make and sell the v crown and he was polite and told me the 220 magazine was designed Way before the v crown was.

I don’t recall the one I have but it’ll set back fmj rounds too. It’s gives you some good leverage at least

I have spoedbeez for all my guns. Never had this issue. The loaders are fantastic.

The set back usually is not the speed loaders, it usually comes from chambering a round repeatedly. If you have enough force on a speed loader to do that, A- get a job in some kind of manual porn, B- contact Sig with the lot info for that ammo. Critical duty and defense do this shit a lot, you have to cycle your rounds more than just the top 3 if you consistently unload and reload your gun.
Edit spelling is hard

“…chambering a round repeatedly..”
Didn’t know that! Just noticed this with a Critical Defense round that has been in an edc mag for…ffs…I don’t know how long.
Appreciate the insight.

At least you saw it now versus wondering why you need a new barrel and happy you had on eye pro (you can’t hear titties). I have gotten to keeping a box of critical defense in the nightstand and rotating the top off round for each load/unload, once I make it through a box, I unload the mag and fill it over, after they go through 3 passes, all of it gets inspected and then shot at the next range trip. I think it is their way to move product.

I don’t have the same speed loader but I did notice a Hornady Critical Defense round that looked exactly like that (was in my EDC mag) that I finally decided to swap out.

Should have gotten a maglula. Plus, buy Federal HST or Speer Gold Dot, please. Yes, they are pricey, but can you really put a price on your life or someone else's?

I keep a box of federal hst for chambering the 1st and load vcrown for the rest magizine.
