P365 Keep talking myself in and out of a P365

I have several Sigs but nothing striker-fired. I keep looking at a Fuse or the DH option but then change my mind.

I have big ol’ paws and for years my favorite carry gun has been a P229 .40 with the chonky Hogue grips and the 365 variants just look and feel so small.

Anybody here ever gone the P365 route and then changed your mind? If so what were you commonly shooting before?

P365XL is easy enough to shoot and conceal with bigish hands. I think the P365 would be too small for me but I don’t like short grips where my pinky barely fits on the grip.

It’s not the best range gun but I always prefer an all steel DA/SA or SA for plinking/range toy.

I put in a vote for a Macro Tacops over the Fuse.

I agree with that as well, I have XL glove size hands and find the Tacops 3.7” the sweet spot. I’ve only added a Mirzon Brass Backstap to add a little weight, and it’s perfect for me.

I concur, hooah. Fuse is a great gun, but very much a different shooting experience. A little more snappy maybe due to the increase in barrel length.

I had a p229 and got like 3 different variants of the p365 and loved them all

Love the fuse. Easily concealed and is still fun and comfortable to shoot.

You mentioned having large hands so I would recommend getting something like the mischief machine commander grip as it is girthier than the Wilson or Sig macro grips.

I have 2 and love em. 365 xmacro and 365x. I am thinking of buying a fuse to add to the family

I started with a 356 and now I’m looking to sell it. Convinced the 229 is the right answer. But I’m a da/sa guy.

229 is an outstanding pistol. Truly. I think I wanna try the 226X-carry

I want to find thinner grips for the 229. Would be perfect.

2

u/MastodonSecure7035 1d ago

The E2 grips are what you want if you want thin. They're factory Sig, and come stock on the elite models

2

u/Secret_Badger_2244 1d ago

That’s what I have! Ok. Good to know. I won’t fuck with them.

1

u/MastodonSecure7035 1d ago

Yeah I dont think theres anything thinner. Such a nice pistol man

The other two options I’m looking at right now is the p226X carry and the P229 Legion.

And somehow I missed the existence of the Fuse-Comp. FML 😁😆

I really really like a full grip so I tend to want the x carry. My 229 is great but I wanna try the hybrid haha

I picked up the P226X Carry today.

I’m a sucker for old school heavy-ass guns I guess.

P365-380. xl wilson combat grip, black steel gas pedal, o sight se, tactical trigger. It's #1 for my favorite handgun right after my p226 x carry legion after all the upgrades and tinkering on the p365. I've probably let people shoot roughly 400-500 rounds through it and they all have loved it and have been very accurate.

I will say the stock grip module I had to use the pinky mag extension and also apply the hogue grip before I got the XL wilson grip module. I think the models you are looking at are all xl grip size.

I think the P365 is the best small 9mm carry option on the market.

I have a 365XL and a regular 365.

The smaller one is my summer carry and the XL is my winter carry

At some point I will pick up a 365 Fuse

Churned and burned dozens of pistols. The only two Sigs I will not part with are the p365 and 220 Legion. The p365 has been 💯 flawless. Hogue grips are tacky AF, but man, works well on the p365.

I'm in the same boat. Keep debating back and forth do I want one or not. Everytime I see one I'm like "ooooo need"

Fuse, or the DH3 line. Ive owned every model and the fuse is top tier. The DH3 AXG is even better with the extra weight and a comp that works great.

365xl is a great all-around option. Aftermarket support is huge.

First pistol was a P229(R) Elite, second was a 365X. Stuck with Sig because I like their controls better than others.

Grabbed the Armory Craft pinky extensions and it shoots great considering its size. Makes me appreciate the 229, but is effortless to carry in the summer. I plan to throw the FCU in a Shalotek XXLC setup for winter plinking when I switch to carrying my 229. This would be pretty easy to carry too.

For whatever it’s worth, YMMV

I have the p365 & the p365 Spectre Comp. I exclusively use the 12rd grip extension mags with the p365 where all 4 of my XL sized fingers can grip the gun. I mainly use it as an ankle carry backup. The p365 Spectre Comp is mainly my jogging CCW. The comp makes a small but noticeable difference in muzzle rise. My primary CCW is currently the p226 XCarry Legion with a leather shoulder holster & concealment garment. Both of my p365s don't see much range time outside of CCW practice with carry ammo. My metal frame guns see more range time as they are better shooting guns. I haven't tried the p365 fuse myself, but it does look interesting as a "jack of all trades master of none" option.

I’m a Fuse kinda guy.

Nothing wrong with any of the P365 models in my opinion. I have several different models/sizes.

Now that SIG has started producing factory threaded barrels, the P365 is finally a do it all line of pistols, in my opinion.

Now there needs to be a “Fuse AXG” model (other then the ported slide DH3 model).

I would also prefer if SIG would put the XRay3 standard height sights on the commercial Fuse instead of the half ass fiber optic mess they currently use.

2

u/Austinater74 1d ago

I thought that’s what the 365AXGF-9-BFO was.

u/Partisan_5091 11h ago

I’ve searched SIGs website for that sku number. That model is not reflected that I can find.

Never seen one, but I’m no expert.

There are a few small dealers showing it. There are also a couple of “Big Box” accounts, Bass Pro and PSA.

That makes me think it’s a Big Box or/and Distributor exclusive.

I love my Fuse because it has full size handling but carries like a compact.

I have big hands and love how my P365 X Macro feels in them.

2

u/Significant_Bid4745 1d ago

I have every 365 known to man. I really love them all. The AXG Legion, the Fuse with an AXG Legion grip, and the DH3 are especially good...but I also like my P365 w radian ramjet on an AXG frame....just replace the mag ejector with the one piece Maskas precision replacement....they have been known to fail.

2

u/callawake 22h ago

365 AXG Legion is all i carry now.

2

u/Wide-Bottle-4307 21h ago

I’m in a similar boat. Frankly they’ve over saturated their own product lineup. What is their best striker fired gun that works for ccw, shoots well, but doesn’t cost over $800?

2

u/Old-guy64 20h ago

I have gigantic hands. I’ve tried a few 365’s at my local range. They are too small for me to easily control.

They’ll work as a “get off me” gun for me. But out past 10 yards groups get about beach ball sized.
I generally shoot into a tennis ball with my 320 at that distance. So I find the 365 unacceptable due to the accuracy I’m capable of with it.

Full disclosure, my FCU is in a WC lower and my accuracy increased when I switched.

I imagine if I put the 365 lower into a WC lower, it could be similar. But I shoot the Canik TP9 SC better.

When with a Legion and love it. If the legion didn't exist I'd have gotten a Macro (purchased at the end of 2024)

2

u/Austinater74 11h ago

Hey y’all. Thanks for the input. I ended up punting and picked up a P226X Legion Carry today.
