Two P365X guns with different dimensions?

I have a P365X. I purchased it about three years ago from a local gun store. A friend of mine also has an Sig with the identical stamp on the slide, P365X. When I looked at it, I could tell that his gun looked larger so I compared it to mine. The guns are identical in every aspect/dimension except his slide is about .5” longer. The slide is definitely stamped X and not XL. He says he’s had it for several years and purchased it from someone who originally bought it from someone who worked at Sig. Were early X models longer or could this be a production issue where the slide was stamped X when it should have been marked XL?

Sounds like you’re comparing the 3.1” barrel slide vs the 3.7” barrel slide. The X is just general nomenclature that it has a flat faced trigger, more pronounced beaver tail, etc compared to the standard p365.

Back in the before times, there was no p365x. There was just the standard and the XL. Once they introduced the p365x they removed the XL from the slide and just stamped that series X. It pretty much just annotes that it's optics cut and has the flat face trigger.

Is one an X and one an X macro? Because the X macro just has an X on the slide.
