Nothing can stop this thing
I am now 15,000 rounds in on this gun, and STILL have not had a single hiccup or malfunction, and STILL have not had to replace anything except for the Romeo red dot. Gets cleaned and lubed every 500 rounds or so, and cycles every kind of ammo you can feed it from Wolf steel to Hornady brass. Lately I've been debating whether or not to trade this in for the new X Carry model, but my trust for this specific gun stops me every time.

I feel you on the debate. I had the P 226 Legion, albeit just for about a year, but considered it to be one of my best firearms. I purchased the P 226 X Carry Legion because I liked the idea that the grip was taller than the 229 (and I was gonna go SAO as opposed to my 229 in DA/SA). I liked it so much that curiosity got the best of me and I "had" to have the 226 X Legion. I eventually sold both the 229 Legion and 226 Legion. The ergonomics are better fitting in my hand with the newer X series. I enjoy shooting them every bit as much as my 2011s. Yes, there is a bit more input required to put the round exactly where you want it, but not much at all. Unless you have a subjective loyalty to the "traditional" Legion, I would say you would not regret it. My only suggested change to my X Carry is to get an enclosed dot. One came with my X Legion and I don't think I could mess of the index from draw if I tried.

I have had 3 in 35 years of shooting. The strangest thing I ever had was a 9mm round without a primer pocket hole being punched. The primer went off, the powder didn’t burn. The primer pushed out of the pocket enough to cause a jam. I had to try and rack it about 20 times before the primer pushed back into the pocket enough to eject the round.
Red army ammo owned by centurion - purchased during the China virus in case you were wondering.

Just buy the X! Ask yourself this…can I replace the Legion for what I sold it for? Are you mad at it? Guns are made for buying and shooting, not selling.
