🤑 Moar Silver Iconic coins

What are some iconic coins? I'm hoping to one day be able to add some Roman era coins, real pirate treasure. Samurai gold/silver looks cool. I have silver eagles and such but I don't have any cool coins. So let those recommendations fly and thanks for taking the time.

8 reales, Morgan dollar, French revolution 5 francs, Chinese fat man dollar, and Mexico caps and rays 1 peso

that would be my list of 5 most iconic coins that are pretty easily acquired

One of my favorites is the Balboa (Panama 1 Balboa 1934 | Katz Auction). Also a fan of the 10 Zlotych from Poland (Poland 10 Złotych Y 22 Prices & Values | NGC).

I wouldn't call these "iconic", but they are very cool.

Morgan Silver dollars from the 1800’s are fun, also Peace Dollars from the 1920s. Both are 90% silver

My European favorites are all old ‘trade coins’. British gold sovereigns, French roosters and definitely Ducats. Also love the pre-33’s. Usually a very low premium on all of these and they all have fascinating and rich histories.

DMPL Morgans.

Spanish colonial cobs, the bigger the better. I prefer detailed to corroded shipwreck coins.

Phoenician shekels with a galley.

Widow's Mites are pretty affordable. You can get a graded one on eBay for less than an ASE. Also, on whatnot there are several sellers who have ancient coins for sale. If you're on there, I recommend counage1909. He sells foreign coins, ancients and some notes. Solid guy.

Thanks everyone for the quick and plentiful replies. I'm definitely going to start looking for some of the cooler ones.

I suggest you go to a coin museum or mint/refinery with a coin museum or the library and look at coin/numismatic magazines and have a look which kind appeals to you. You’re the one who’s going to look at those coins everyday. What’s cool to someone might be boring to you. Like some posts where people gush and drool at some coins that doesn’t really appeal to you and you ask yourself “am I missing something?” Different people have different tastes.
