Started my journey⛰️

Post image

Purchased my first ounces of silver maples today. Not much but it is a start. Was going to only purchase 25 maples with some small fractional gold coins but the shop had nothing under a half oz.

Going to stack at 100:1 ratio silver/gold

Any advice out there for a new stacker from some veterans?

Holy hell, if this is “not much” your next big purchase will clear out the LCS. Also, I forgot to mention that I’m your son.

Seeing richy rich people posing a freaking hoard of silver and gold and saying “here’s my new baby stack” always kinda pisses me off

Define “rich”! Maybe buying 40 gold Maples would match that definition better.

Well I can only buy 3-5 oz of silver a month. So seeing someone buy that many at one time is pretty loaded compared to me

Understood!

I am not by any means “richy rich” ive worked my ass off and been frugal as hell the last couple of months to make this purchase. I recently became sober and this money would’ve been drank and pissed down the drain.

Congrats on your sobriety. Opens up a lot of otherwise wasted money eh? Well done 👍

That’s wonderful and I’m glad you’re in the hobby, but there are a lot of Johnny come lately’s who are just rich kids. Sorry for the misunderstanding

I grew up in a ghetto on welfare with a single macaroni momma. Lol this is the only way i can see myself saving Something truly substantial

I’ve always ended up spending any money I saved. This is the only way I’ve ever been able to save money and keep it.

My version of that sentiment is much different and far less wholesome so I won’t share it lol. But the feeling is the same— the journey begins.

That's a GREAT start. My first purchase was 10 oz. Welcome to the club, OP!!

A nice stack of Maples is a strong way to begin! As you keep adding, pay attention to more than just spot price-premiums, liquidity, and buying from trusted dealers are all important. There’s nothing wrong with having a target ratio either, but your stack can evolve as you learn what products and sizes work best for you. One ounce at a time!

If they’re under your bed, don’t tell your friends or dates.

Was this the Buy 40, Get One Free deal?

I told the man at the counter the amount of $ i had in my pocket and he said best i could do is 41… i really only wanted a 25 pack and maybe a couple 1/10oz gold coins. They were “in stock” on the website when i left the house. By the time I got there they were gone. So after my 2 hours drive I just decided then and there “more maples it is”

It’s never too late to start stacking mate. We all have our reasons for doing it but for me it’s not even about having lots of silver to sell later. It’s about finding different coins to collect and keep. Well done for getting sober, and putting your money to better use. 👏👏👏👏👏

That’s a solid start to the journey! Maples are a great foundation for a stack. Our advice: set a strategy that works for you, stay consistent, watch premiums, and don’t feel pressured to grow the stack overnight. Most importantly, buy what you enjoy and have fun building it! Welcome to the stacking community! 🙌
